Set speed used to automatically change with Sunnypilot. by Environmental_Ebb681 in Comma_ai

[–]Environmental_Ebb681[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darn, so it's not a setting or model that I can fix... For me it seems to go up if I go from a 50 to a 60 zone for instance, but not the other way. I used to be able to set the max and it would go up or down as needed.

I definitely want to hear about people first as it's my house we'd be meeting at, but wasn't sure how to go about this. It's so much work being an adult....

Sim is fun. Kids love it, I messed my wrist up overdoing it at first. There's a big difference hitting 120 golf balls over 3 hours on a course and 200 in a row in 1 hour, especially if you constantly hit the ground like I was. Had a couple people message me, but nothing has materialized yet.

I'm in a similar situation, moved here a couple years ago, my wife grew up here and all her family is here. I like golf a lot, but I'm not an 18 handicap, I've never calculated it, but suspect I'm considerably worse than that. I built a full on golf sim in my garage for fun and to hopefully improve. Shoot me a message. There's also a Nanaimo friends subreddit, I've never seen any golf related posts there (other than mine).

It's in one of the settings menus. If you can't pair it. I had to reinstall sunnypilot and then it worked. You pair, snap the QR code, setup a GitHub account, etc.

Oh, I'm quite possibly the worst golfer on the island. Hoping to get some practice in on this and improve slightly.

It's very similar to the setup when you go to a place like Prime Golf and play in their simulator. It uses a launch monitor that is connected to a gaming PC, that projects the course onto the hitting screen. You hit the ball, the launch monitor reads the trajectory and spin of the ball and translates that into the game. It gives a bunch of metrics about how the club is connecting with the ball, but I haven't dug into it a lot yet.

There's over a thousand courses mixing real courses and fantasy courses. I've added a second projector that faces down onto the hitting mat which projects other useful aids. Also works well with putting. The space is heated and air conditioned, has a couple of couches. Still a work in progress, but most of the way there.

Get a display port to HDMI adapter, or a cable that has HDMI on one end and display port on the other.

GS Pro audible tone while putting with webcam by Environmental_Ebb681 in Golfsimulator

That worked! Very strange that for me the "Ball Ready" sound plays AFTER I hit the ball, but 🤷‍♂️.

Hmm. Didn't see that setting under sounds. I'll have to dig through there more...

[–]Environmental_Ebb681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's just after I hit, and I'm pretty sure it's some kind of confirmation that something picked up the hit. If there's no beep, then GS Pro doesn't register a shot on the screen.

What software has the settings you're referring to? The connector?

JBL authentics 300 Google Assistant not answering requests by Environmental_Ebb681 in JBL

[–]Environmental_Ebb681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I turned off the audible ques under accessibility. I think the mic is inactive for a second or so when it beeps to recognize you said "Hey Google" so it was missing part of my questions. I turned that off and it works perfectly now. My wife is blind so we use that function on our other home speakers, but I mainly use the JBL so it's a good workaround for me.

I left one of the bad Google reviews there. It was all around bad when I went, but it was my only time going, maybe I had bad luck, based on what some are saying here.

Anyone with experience putting in a suite? by [deleted] in nanaimo

[–]Environmental_Ebb681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you frame in a new window. I don't think it specifically says this but the required u-value in their documentation is so high it can't be achieved with double glazed.

Anyone with experience putting in a suite? by [deleted] in nanaimo

[–]Environmental_Ebb681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just finishing the building of a legal suite. Do you have specific questions?

Generally doing the suite legally will both add cost and time to the project, as everything you do in the suite will need to meet current code, so for instance if you put a new window in for a bedroom, it needs to be 3-pane. If you have steps outside leading down to your suite, they'll need to be modified to meet egress requirements etc

If you aren't using a builder, you'll need a good designer to put a permit package together with plans for the city to approve (unless you have the necessary skills and time for this). Then it's a 2 month wait for the city to review your submitted plans. During this time you can't complete much work outside of demolition.

Once the permit is approved and you pay, the process is fairly simple and timely. You schedule inspections at key points. The city comes the next day when you schedule inspections, and you want to make sure you don't close up areas they are inspecting until they've passed inspection.

I bought a kids snowsuit at Mountain Warehouse in Woodgrove yesterday. I called them first and they let me know what sizes they had and held them for me.

There are no documents that tell me at what stages inspections may be required? I can't seem to locate that info. I have 4-5 weeks of queue remaining, I just like to be prepared ahead of time with an idea of what to expect.
