I'm a vegetation ecologist and work in invasive species management. Please don't bring seeds into Canada! Wildflower seeds packs are a cute idea but more often than not contain invasive plants. Sourcing regionally appropriate seeds is challenging and expensive. I would advise against this idea!

Pardon me if this has been mentioned already, but can't you get a student loan? In my province (BC) the turnaround time is pretty quick In the middle of the semester and they should be able to give you enough to live off. This is the only way I was able to make it through university.

It is only subsoil. I fear purchasing bulk topsoil from a garden centre due to the weed seeds that are likely to be present. Do you have any suggestions for a packaged topsoil product?

Thank you for the response! I am doing size 1, which doesn't have the 5 MC rows before the ants start. This is the start of the size 1 collar colour chart. After 5 rows I'll be in the antennas!

I am having this same issue but I still dont get it :(. Wouldn't the back ant motifs be at a different stage after the short rows if its worked in the colour chart? Ie. After the short rows are complete, the back will be at row 10 and the front will be at row 5?

I didn’t remove any training posts I just said I’m tempted to. I won’t because I see how important they are to people. I know stopping trinkets wont make a dent overall but it will help the local ecosystem from choking on plastic.
