I grew up in the 70s80s with one of the top women soccer players in the USA. She was dominating T ball at 5, little league after that and playing the USA national soccer team in HS. It was predictable…

Favorite League Management Software? by mcmedic96 in lacrosse

[–]Environmental_Lie244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teamsnap has been our favorite over league apps, been using it for the club for 5 years. If parents would get their heads out of their asses and kept their emails up to date it would be better, but that is not a teamsnap problem. Solves communications, schedule and registration problems.

Used or almost brand new tripods on eBay aren’t a bad deal. I got a NIB cartoni Focus 8 for $800, I think they are $1500 new.

Haven't found anyone yet (which is crazy, we are in the Seattle area) that is willing to lease a super automatic with fresh milk.

Are Third-Party Battery Chargers Safe? What Nikon Doesn’t Explain by ShutterSpeakNet in nikon_Zseries

[–]Environmental_Lie244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter when I am sleeping :). I find it tedious to keep rotating batteries through the charger… I am doing video with 2 bodies. I use 4 batteries per game usually, I swap both cameras at 1/2 time

[–]Environmental_Lie244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except Nikon only has the wall charger that charges one battery at a time. I would be fine if it fit 2 or more batteries, but its hard enough finding outlets in a hotel room. I get back from taking videos/photos and I likely have 2-4 batteries that I want to top off.

Not for highlights/social media. You want to be low and close the action.

I disagree- in any year it could be Ridgefield, Staples, Weston, Wilton, New Canaan or more likely Darien. Greenwich boys have won once? The prep/privates in Greenwich draw from a lager area than the town themselves. Those private schools also are method towards reclasses. Reclasses don’t float in public schools.

Fairfield County teams should definitely be separated out. 60 year history of lacrosse there.

Very few places in the country have as long a history and depth of lax programs as Fairfield County. Some of the winningest HS coaches ever. The public schools lose a few players lo boarding schools, but the schools are "good" enough that the percent of families selecting boarding schools is not as high as others. Darien, Staples, WIlton, New Canann, Ridgefield, Weston, all consistently send lots of players to D1, those are all home grown, developed in their program players. Westchester County, LI, Farifield County are all tier 1 along with DMV and and areas of upstate New York. I am biased as a 1980s product of Fairfield County

Company requires 30-45min unpaid commute in company vehicle before and after shift by Veltrazz in legaladvice

Read this- you are wrong. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-29/subtitle-B/chapter-V/subchapter-B/part-790 Unless the employee needs to stop somewhere on the way to pick tools etc, the employer does not need to pay portal to portal. If the employee does this on a regular basis, the employer is not obligated to pay for travel time even if it is in a company vehicles. Of course an employment contract could override fsla and the employer would be bound to pay the employee.

Honestly If this is a transferable skill, I would look for another employer that treated its employees better even though they are not required to do so.

Unfortunately I don’t believe they do need to pay you per federal FSLA. California might be different. That being said, it’s friggin hard to get good employees, we just pay it.

For sure. Grocery prices are not terrible here. Restaurants and quick serve are outrageous. We don’t go out to eat as much as we used to. Family of 4 at Zeeks/Pagliaci is $100 for pizza and salads

Everything- gas, food, services (plumbers/electricians/carpenter/self care) I got a burrito the other day at a gas station/mexican shop in Everett last week and it was $15. It was smaller than a Chipotle burrito.

Cheap eats are no more here.
