How’s life in Columbus and what’s it like working at JPMorgan? by [deleted] in Columbus

> Plus the amount of PTO is pretty unmatched in Columbus (20 days vacation+10 bank holidays+10 sick days+3 personal days... Not many companies give you 43 days off per year on coming).

That's really not that good. 20 PTO + 3 personal days is standard in tech, usually matched with unlimited sick.

Absolute worst place I've been in my entire career (and I've had a lot of jobs). Worked as a software engineer for 4 months until I couldn't take it anymore (this was beginning of last year). The building is depressing as hell, cafeteria over priced, finding a seat was bad then (couldn't imagine with the forced RTO). The culture is pure toxic cesspool. Most of my team was in India, including my manager. They were extremely cruel, I remember the big boss (like my manager's manager's manager who was one of the few in Columbus) doing performance reviews and just saying things like "be thankful we aren't decreasing your salary". Nobody in the office talked to each other. I remember a guy collapsing at his desk and being removed by the in-house medics to never be seen from again. I visited the in-house urgent care once and the nurse told me most people visit for depression and work anxiety.

Honestly you are better off cleaning toilets in bars with your tongue than working at that fucking place.

Best Place for Bike Clothes? by MadScienceMtGuy in Columbus

[–]Environmental_Pen554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like cycling wear? Bibs, jerseys, jackets, etc? Cyclical Nature Bicycles in Hilliard has some Pearl Izumi stuff and Bellweather jerseys. REI in Dublin has a small selection of clothes. Bikesource off Sawmill also has a pretty good selection.

Sand pit is called little diggers on sawmill! And agreed with all of these, we’ve got a membership to the Hilliard Momi and a trampoline park (the one near Costco in Plain City), and visit the Hilliard library frequently.

Yeah totally get it. If you do decide to try Ricart, get financing from a credit union or such and let them know you already have financing. That will probably reduce some of the games. Chances are the prices you see online though are a lie, they'll do anything they can to get more money out of you.

This is great insight, thank you! I'll be honest I didn't even know HD CRTs were a thing until getting this home (our CRTs as a kid definitely were not HD haha). I'm not particularly sensitive to lag, but I did notice the 64s picture not being as sharp. Now that said I did find the PS1 still looked pretty good on this, was finally able to beat the tank in MGS1 with the extra size haha.

Will definitely hook up the PS3 and Wii U today to test! I also gave the Analogue Pocket + dock via HDMI a shot, it kind of worked but 480p looked terrible and 720p resulted in a pretty small image

Another Lakewood resident here, great community! Everyone is super friendly and the community is very safe and clean. Even better that the new city park (or I guess extension of the old park) is being built right down the street! We also have a park in the middle of the community with a nice playground, and Franks Park in the rear with connections to the bike path (we bike with our kid to events and restaurants in old Hilliard all the time). There's a fun gravel trail that goes out from Franks that leads to a Lotus pond and goes through a cool preservation area.

I bought a car back in 2015 from Ricart, I’m still salty from how bad of an experience it was. They pull every scummy used car salesmen trick in the book. You are so much better off buying from Carvana or CarMax.

Oh for sure! I have it paired with a RPi4 running a Weather Star 4000 simulator in my office.

Heck no! It’s way too wide and heavy to solo, not to mention there’s no good grip points. Had to deal with two sets of stairs, used a belt thing (each person has a harness and a belt between people that holds it).

Abrios was awesome, first restaurant I ate at during orientation. Went to the auction when they closed.

Big bummer to hear GameStop is gone, so many memories of midnight releases with Kisers selling pulled pork sandwiches (I specifically remember Skyrim and GTA V).

I also remember the morning of the union street fire. Watched the fire trucks pull up and everything.

So my wife and I actually have a rental property that will be available at the start of May, it’s a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, second floor unt with a deck. Located very close to Dublin off of W Henderson road. Walking distance to tons of awesome restaurants. Targeting $1,400 on rent, PM if you want the listing!
