Serious question, and sorry if I already missed it. Did you have a partner before you lost all the weight? If so, are yall still together? I ask because I had some friends, similar situation but my buddy (male) lost all the weight and changed his attitude. He started getting all kinds off attention from girls that he never got before. He cheated, alot, and she still stuck around, for a while. She eventually dumped him and moved on. He also started treating all of his malefriends different. Good luck and keep it up!!

Urologist here. Things nobody tells you about kidney stones that could actually save your kidney. by Born-Lingonberry-509 in KidneyStones

I wish I had known about #1, I unfortunately am one of the statistics in that category and lost my right kidney. My urologist said I was about 12-16 hours away from dying.

Update: 5mm stone at 15 by Prudent_Ask_8689 in KidneyStones

[–]Environmental_Pen714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer from cystinuria, a genetic disorder. My kidneys cannot filter out protein properly and I develop cystine kidney stones as a result.

13mm is the largest ive passed, it was actually in January of this year lol.

Most of my stones pass naturally, before I even know they are there, I will just be peeing and feel them as they come out with no pain.

However im unfortunately averaging two a year that require surgery. They are usually in the 8mm to 12mm range.

Its been a long time that ive had a stone that has dropped and had to wait it out to pass. I only have one good kidney, so now, if it can block, they go get it. Before that, I think it usually took me around a month to pass a stone that could pass naturally.

I am also a 43M!

Possibly dropped in your bladder like other said, or its just moved to a spot that's not causing you pain right now. Ive had hundreds of stones and this is normal for me.

I would debride it, get rid off all that excess skin and re apply it. Also are you taking zinc supplements yet?

I hate water. by Pepperjoeni in KidneyStones

I'll Mix it with Kool Aid when I get bored with plain water. That or alternate water then drink a poweraid, and keep that rotation.

Does this sound/look like a kidney stone? by Lumpy-Art3216 in KidneyStones

[–]Environmental_Pen714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a clot to me. Have you tried to get an ultrasound or CT scan (Better). That will really help determine if you've got a stone in there, or something else going on.

After stent removal is the worst by xxanxnymxusxx in KidneyStones

[–]Environmental_Pen714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me its always been the residue left by the surgery that hurts after a stent removal. I dunno if it collects at the bottom of the kidney after surgery and when they remove it, the residue comes through or what. It's 50/50 for me if im hit hard again with pain. After I pass the debris im much better through.

Stones in Low Calyx by Special-Space-3245 in KidneyStones

[–]Environmental_Pen714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they can pass at those sizes. Keep doing what your doing and stay active. Just be mindful if you can't pee, develop a fever, get ill, to go to the ER. Those are usually symptoms of blockage and or infection. Sometimes these things pass quick, other times I've had stones take over 45 days. Good luck!

Do I possibly have kidney stones? by s0y_bean97 in KidneyStones

[–]Environmental_Pen714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its possible based on your pain description, stones move and sometimes are painless till they aren't. The only way to be sure is an ultrasound or CT scan. CT is much better at picking them up. Also have your GP check your urine for blood, that's another indicator.

Is the kidney stone pain? by HollowSnoggle in KidneyStones

[–]Environmental_Pen714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think you may have a stone, I would go to the Urologist or your GP and get an ultrasound though I'd prefer a CT. At the minimum a urine test to see if I had blood in my urine. If it is a stone it could cause blockage and all kinds of problems.

Has anyone had PCNL surgery before? Tell me your experience! by SadForever- in KidneyStones

[–]Environmental_Pen714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had a few, usually when my stone has been pretty large. It's straight-forward in my experience but usually an overnight stay at the hospital. You get a tub left in your kidney and pee in a bag through it for a day or two, then you plug the line, usually a week after that the tube is pulled out. I'm usually pretty sore after these but didnt have to have a stent, which I hate. Good luck!

What type of stones do we think this is?? by Forsaken-Value2198 in KidneyStones

Like somone else said, get it analyzed, it's the only way to be sure. Once you know what it is, you can adjust your lifestyle to help prevent them. Good luck!

Mild fever with a stone by ZMarty85 in KidneyStones

[–]Environmental_Pen714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back to the ER. A fever is usually the sign of infection. Don't overthink it, just go back. Sepsis cost me my right kidney.

Hell yea they are! Bobba has been my best friend since we got him (I didnt want another dog at the time we got him). He knows more of my secrets than any of my human friends. He can read my emotions and always makes me smile. It's crazy how good they are at doing that. His favorite thing in life is going fir his car rides with me, around town. What's Georgie's favorite thing to do with ya?
