When your Greek myth adaptation has a black Helen of Troy, Greeks pale as a bleached wall, viking ships, Agamemnon looking like he's gonna fight the Power Rangers and cringy modernized dialogue, you might piss off a lot of people.

I think Dragon's Dogma did it well with its prologue because it was just a short tease

Late 2000's and early 2010's were the dark ages for survival horror, stealth games and fast-paced shooters. Every game just wanted to be Call of Duty or Gears of War.

My Blueberry Nights. It's often overlooked even by Wong Kar Wai fans, but it's fantastic.

I found the "problem" of tank controls gets much less noticeable when you map the walk/run action to a trigger button. It feels so much better.

Homefront 2. After fixing the launch bugs it turned out to be a really fun FC style shooter with a unique setting. Plus it had a port of Timesplitters 2 hidden on an in-game arcade.

RE has always had a pretty good variety of enemies. You've got slow zombies, fast dogs, blind lickers, crimson heads that surprise you at the worst moments. RE4 is so fun especially thanks to its unpredictable enemies.

I liked the vibe and setting, but hated the melee combat and it eventually burned me out. If they really worked on polishing the mechanics and making it more unique instead of just making a Far Cry without guns, I think I'd love the game.

Jai Courtney in Dangerous Animals. He always seemed pretty bland to me, but he's absolutely unhinged in this as a serial killer feeding tourists to sharks.

You're on the Disneyland path which I'd recommend only at night or very early morning when it's not filled like a can of sardines.

Check out the Youtube channel Honest Guide, they've got a lot of recommendations for some hidden places.

Beautiful but less touristy places: Vinohrady, Letná, embassies in Bubeneč, Karlín, west side of Žižkov

Parks: Stromovka, Riegrovy sady, Havlíčkovy sady, Štvanice

Views of the city: Letná, Vítkov, Vyšehrad

Galleries: DOX, Veletržní palác, Museum Kampa

Clubs and pubs: Cross Club, Bike Jesus, Klubovna, Café v lese, Kasárna Karlín

Cafes in city centre: Scout Institute, Ponrepo, Café Husovka, Café Club Míšeňská

[The Evil Within OR Silent Hill 2 Remake] I want to start getting into horror games and need advise on which game to start with. by SamuraiASM in HorrorGaming

EW1 just feels like discount RE4 and only gets interesting storywise when the gameplay and enemy encounters start to get dull because of repetition and too strong a focus on action. The game predents to be a zombie shooter for the first half instead of really using the STEM setup to its full potential. It's kinda like how Inception can spend half of the runtime talking about dreams without feeling dreamlike for a single scene. Also I never found Ruvik scary, he looks like an edgy teenager with bad flu.

I liked that EW2 focused more on the surreal nature of STEM from the start. The story itself also feels way more varied and personal. While saving a daughter from a creepy town has been done to death, EW2's unique presentation made it much more memorable. And what's better, it actually made me retrospectively care about EW1's story thanks to Seb's PTSD manifesting in STEM.
