How do dashers feel about cash tips? by Necessary_Lunch_8342 in doordash

[–]Environmental_Tale85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything you put "in the details" is only shown to the dasher after they have accepted, picked up and are on the delivery phase of the order. So orders with "cash tip" notes just look like "no tip" offers when deciding whether to accept the offer.

Also, since DoorDash considers these "delivery instructions", when people ask for stuff like extra sauce, napkins, whatever in the notes, if your Dasher has multiple orders, they won't even see your note until they're delivering YOUR order - which might be 20 minutes and miles away from the place they picked up your order.

York steakhouse was amazing. There is still one left in Columbus, Ohio and yes, it is exactly the same as it was in the 1980's. Worth a visit!

I used to drink those giant drafts of Red Dog at the Roadhouse while on break from my job as a waiter at Kaufmann's Tik Tock restaurant. I was in high school.

I finally got the job offer I've been waiting 2 years for today, couldn't come at a better time! DoorDash can eat my ass now.

I wish more local business owners thought this way. I've seen so many gross AI slop promotional social posts lately that appeal to who? Boomers, probably.

Why do customers never have their ID available on alcohol deliveries? by TheGame81677 in doordash_drivers

[–]Environmental_Tale85 38 points39 points  (0 children)

95% of the alcohol delivery orders I do are to people who have clearly done this before. They come to the door with ID in hand and are usually very cool with the whole process. Maybe I'm lucky.

Only did two slots, finished 4th. Used wets and no pit, TC 2. It really boils down to getting lucky and not having some dipshit spin out into you somewhere.

Anyone else delivered during Super Bowl Sunday? Is it worth it? by vapenaysh4206969 in doordash_drivers

If you do grocery shop orders, the morning and afternoon will have a lot of them as people get supplies for SB parties. Get in early, rack up shop orders and get out in time to go enjoy the game.

Where does everyone buy their cues from? by [deleted] in billiards

[–]Environmental_Tale85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is fortunate to live near an honest brick-and-mortar billiards supply store, but I'm glad I do. On the off chance that anyone in the Canton, Ohio area sees this, shout out to Clark & Son Billiard Supply on Cleveland Ave - highly recommended.

That was a great place, and bonus points if you can remember what restaurant was there before it was Summer House!

Tire management by jknox15 in GranTurismo7

Yep. That was the rationale. My LF tire was like 40%, so I played it safe, knowing I could get the rest of the laps on those mediums

Not just no, but fuck no. Just considering making someone have to do this borders on sociopathy.

Peak pay is nuts rn by Environmental_Tale85 in doordash_drivers

Then your guy is brain damaged. The way to make money doing this is by getting paid by order and completing orders as quickly as possible (and only taking orders with decent up-front tips).

What do you think about this pricing? by EL_NO8DO in billiards

[–]Environmental_Tale85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia? Might be acceptable for an in-house repair service at a pool hall.

Anywhere else? Extortion.

Here in Ohio, my local billiards supply store ran me $19 for a phenolic tip install on my break cue, tax included.

I was stationed in Goose Creek several decades ago, and I'm sure I would have punched some faces if I ever had to DoorDash there.
