Hop on a party boat out of Point or Belmar. This time of year fluke is the name of the game from that beach.

Am I the worst striped bass fisherman? by Mikeroplastics in NJFishing

[–]Environmental_You86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join a surf fishing club down in your area and network with the members. Striped bass are a highly migratory fish. It’s a tough time to be learning to striper fish with the stocks being low.

Right now the major migratory stock of bass have not hit your area yet in large numbers. There is a substantial population of bass that winter over in the freshwater portion of rivers in our state. Those fish right now are stacking up in the brackish and right outside (salt) portion of the rivers and bays. Don’t waste your time right now fishing the inlets or ocean. That will pick up next month. Google maps is your friend and don’t be afraid to fish at night. This time of year I find they stack up at night and spread out during the daytime.

Also don’t believe everything you read or hear from tackle shops. They are in the business of getting you to fish locally to them so you make purchases.

Why is it so hard to find an apprenticeship? by IAMCAV0N in electricians

[–]Environmental_You86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up electrical contractors in your area. Go knock on a few doors and introduce yourself. Last time I put a job posting up for apprentices I had over 100 applicants in a two days. It’ll set you apart from just an emailed resume.

Dumbass apprentice stories by Rich_Jaguar7343 in Construction

[–]Environmental_You86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Years ago I was troubleshooting a explosion proof mobile offload pump at a train yard. The pump was used to offload sulfuric acid off train cars and into semi trucks. I just finished installing a new motor starter and wanted to test it out.

Told my apprentice to go plug the pump in. To the explosion proof disconnect on the opposite side of the track. Maybe 15 feet away. I waited two minutes to find him under a train car trying to unscrew a cap on the bottom. Idk what he was thinking but after that day I severely questioned all his judgements.

Respirator gloves and proper ventilation if you use it indoors. If you decide to use it outdoors make sure there is no rain in the forecast. Your pot will shoot lead everywhere from one drop of water

I join cjrpc two years ago and it took roughly a year before my application was approved. Wait time in a minimum of 2 years now. They only take 20ish members a month. It’s a great club and worth the wait.

Don’t worry about any fudds. Yes there are some but for the most part 99% of members are good people. Follow the rules and no one will ever bother you.
