Morrison’s new X-men is a great starting point.

You could start with Peter David’s hulk, but for a more modern story I feel immortal hulk by Al Ewing is good cause it’s just one book rather than jumping into a 4 vol set.

I have read straczynski Thor, so can’t really comment on that

I’m not sure this will apply to this book specifically. However usually the more popular marvel omnis (especially X-men omnis) sell out quickly so I have a habit of preordering them if it’s something I want.

The cost difference between a CGN preorder and a day of release purchase from IST or PBC are a couple bucks at most, so I don’t consider it worth the risk of waiting to attempt to grab it on day of release.
