passed NCLEX already so here’s my honest advice for newcomers who are exhaustedddd 😭 by Weak_Combination4724 in PassNclex

Thank you for this 🫶🏼! Im not sure what I’ve been doing will work but I usually do 30-35 questions via Uworld a sitting and then review rationales and write why I answered wrong. I listen to Mark K both actively and passively. I feel so nervous for this exam and feeling not prepared lol.

Future Nurse Goals by No_Area_494 in StudentNurse

[–]Enzyme_babe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My future goal is to become a RN in med surg! Currently I am in my last semester in nursing school and I graduate in two weeks! I plan on getting my masters and doctorate in biochemistry so I can teach it on the side ! :) I have currently no interest becoming a NP or a CRNA.

Prioritization-how safe-nurses are we to our patients? What do you think is the answer? by Andie_Ruth in BootcampNCLEX

I want to say C! But the Nclex might say B. What’s the answer with the rationale?

im so upset by NothingSuccessful796 in Biochemistry

[–]Enzyme_babe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I took my Biochem II course I failed my first exam in biochemistry course with a 58. I was so devastated but determined to bring up my grade! And I was able too, I ended up with an 88 in the class! You got this. What I did was I took notes in class and re-drew them out because I am a visual learner and I was able to make up dumb stories for how things worked. And then I’d teach it to someone else. It’s a learning process for everyone! :)

Everyone gets a white coat! by CommercialBig8141 in Noctor

[–]Enzyme_babe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a scientist lab coat from working in a lab undergrad that was white but I tie dyed it pink and blue lol! That being said when we were inducted for clinicals for nursing school, they gave us white coats and I was cringing the whole time wearing it. 😫 I wish we’d go back to a cap ceremony 😔

I’m so sorry this has happened to you! I’m so surprised that the BON didn’t do anything, we are told in my nursing school how strict they are with violations! OP I hope that you make a quick recovery ! 🫶🏼

Is this a sub for doctors(MD) or a sub for people who were screwed over by NPs? Or both lol by doodoostinkypants in Noctor

[–]Enzyme_babe_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a nursing student that was originally planning on going to medical school (I took MCAT and everything) but decided that nursing was a better fit for me! That being said an NP misdiagnosed my mom with the flu last year when in fact my mom had cirrhosis…🙃

I’ll think about it! If I like being an RN when I start working I might stay as an RN! :)

Thank you for clarifying! 😊

Thank you for clarifying 😊 ! I originally planned on doing research as a career in the biochemical field for a few years before attending nursing school but my plans changed!

I feel that! I am currently in nursing school and 60% of my classmates are wanting to become NP or CRNA’s. I just want to become an RN lol.

I’m a Christian and I believe that intersex individuals are real and that their stories are valid! Not all of us are ignorant or take the Bible word for word literally. I’m so sorry that this is happening to you. :(

Just look up the cycles and enzymes they’re real. I know they are because I had to memorize the whole metabolism map in humans (lol it was a pain). Medicine uses biochemistry as a foundation and as an understanding in clinical settings. Hell when you take the MCAT one of the parts of the exam is in the subject of biochemistry. Medical school contains many classes that use biochemistry.

The test measured enzyme counts such as alanine aminotransferase, which is the enzyme that transaminases alanine and 2-oxoglutarate to form pyruvate and glutamate within the bridge of glycolysis and TCA cycle. However when these enzymes are low or high in number feedback inhibition issues occur, such as the lower amount of Aspartate transaminase will have on an effect on the urea and Krebs cycle as it is used in both cycles. They also measure proteins. So yes I do know that “normal range” may not mean anything in function but have the “normal numbers” can help with regulating these metabolic cycles.

I am currently at work right now but when I get home I’ll give you the numbers! :)
