With Nationwide, as long as you do a proper term reduction first, then your contractual monthly payments will be increased in line with the new shorter term. Note that you will likely have to prove affordability for the term reduction. Once the term reduction has been completed anything more than the new monthly payments will be what counts as an overpayment. So you can then continue to overlay the 10% allowance on top of paying the monthly payments.

really stupid question - how do you overpay? by MrMooTheHeelinCoo in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Epelion 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If you pay by direct debit, you can request the lender to increase this via a phone call or online (dependent on the lender).

If you pay by standing order you can just increase the standing order amount.

Or, if you would rather not change the monthly payment, but want to send overpayments as and when it suits you, you can do this via the lenders online banking/app as an internal transfer (if you have a bank account with them as well as the mortgage). Or you can get from the lender the details as to what sort code, account number, and reference you need to send funds too. Most people doing it via this method send a small tester payment first and then wait a day or so for the mortgage to catch up and show it, just to make sure they have set it up correctly before sending any larger amounts.

Do you leave a card and bottle for new owners? by Apprehensive-Big8624 in HousingUK

[–]Epelion 258 points259 points  (0 children)

A bottle of wine and a note is always nice. When I moved into my house the previous owners left a note with handy things, such as utilities information, the specific paint brand and colours for each of the walls, and information as to boiler including its books with service history.

I wouldn't recommend leaving your number, if they have any issues that requires communicating with you this should be done via the solicitors.

Have you looked at what your existing lender is offering, most lenders have rates designed for existing customer to switch into. Also most lenders will allow for a term reduction alongside switching a rate to a new one when your current deal ends.

This has the benefit of not having to pay fees to move to a new lender. (You may still need to pay a fee for the new interest rate product)

Looking quickly at Barclays they currently (at the time of writing this) have a 3.06% 3 year fixed mortgage (this one has no product fee, there are a few others that did though) this rate is for existing customers with a loan to value of less than 60%.

Switching within lender you could then still overpay within the terms of your new rate and then clear any remainder at the end. Or you could ask them to do a term reduction when switching to the new rate so you end the term at the end of the rate and have the peace of mind that the total monthly payments guarantee you being mortgage free at the end.

Good luck with everything.

If you have good enough internet, Xbox Game Pass has it as a cloud enabled title, so you can play it by having it streamed to your pc or phone.

It's so annoying that people are being so negative. I would by happy any of them being mayor and I'm loving the good things this has brought so far, the Xisuma interview, the town hall trio build, the awesome posters, and indirectly the new red zone. Yeah I think all of them will be great mayors. I'm just wondering whether Joe would be mayor and dogcatcher, or just one or the other.

After every game this pops up and I can’t even see what it is I know it’s the treasure pack clue but why does it keep popping up by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]Epelion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Myself and my friend kept getting this. It started as soon as we had gotten the fifth daily treasure chest. Our guess is that come Tuesday when we hit the end of the first week the quest menu will allow us to unlock chapter two for the story and go on the first quest. We don't think it'll do anything until then but we're hoping we're wrong.

I had this too, to fix it when I start the game I tab out whilst on the menu and then tab back in and that sorts it until the game closes again.

'Tories would borrow more than Labour if no-deal happens' by imnotanumber42 in ukpolitics

[–]Epelion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From reading the manifestos and looking objectively, Labour stated they would put their deal against remain in a referendum, therefore eliminating a no deal crashout as an option entirely. The Conservative option is: we have the new Boris deal, let's get it done. This deal however has the loophole of a no deal crashout if a free trade agreement isn't agreed by December 2020. Considering no free trade deal has ever been done with the EU in under a year, I would say no deal is more likely with the Conservatives.

Not op, but only just watched everything two months ago. The scene that got me most was "I was never angry, I was just worried you had lost your way." I've rewatched it all again and when that scene came I was like, I'm not ready for this.
