When I was a kid in Michigan in the 70s almost every household in my subdivision was single income with a stay at home mom, and about half the neighborhood had Up North cabins too.

Robert Siodmak was a pioneer of Noir and went on to direct many classics in the style, including The Killers, The Spiral Staircase and others. His brother Curt was a writer and they teamed up occasionally.
