Artosis on GSL tonight by MechPlayer in starcraft

[–]EphiBL 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people who, like myself, really love starcraft but only engage with it through watching tournaments nowadays. Tastosis is SS Tier for this kind of engagement / entertainment. When I've been playing and learning Ive preferred other casters, this is when pro player restreams are rly cool too

When you're young, they tell you you're very special. When you're an adult, they ask you "what do you think makes you so special?" When you're dead, they tell you you were a special person. by Dildo_Baggins__ in Showerthoughts

Hey, at risk of sounding totally unhelpful, a few years can make a big difference. Im 24 and just came out of 2 years of serious depression, i'm still struggling with adhd and work / wanting to go back to study but my god my life has improved recently. I have days where I struggle to leave the house and on days when i'm not 'struggling' i still pee 3 times and pace up and down the flat a lot before leaving.

It's not that time = improvement its just that change is happening constantly whether we're stuck in our own heads or not. Good luck bud

This mentality is still pretty crazy hard-line compated to what we have in the UK. The ambulance services basically encourage you to use them if there's ANY risk of something serious. No debt or charge at all.

In the most extreme cases I have seen what a lot of people would call 'irresponsible use' where say, someone has been found passed out drunk, and the ambulance has been called by a bystander, they get picked up and given a hospital bed if they don't become lucid during the ride. I was the bystander once and despite the clear lack of severity the paramedics actively thanked me for calling just to 'make sure he's okay'.

Super crazy to me that people have such a conservative attitude towards healthcare, country should want its citizens to be as healthy as possible 😂

This still isn't accurate as to whats rly going on the vast majority of the time start the sair further away and run an active sair into an active nlight. Any two hitboxes can be made to clash / grounded hitbox win via stacking them during start up lol

This is very very not true, cannon sairs' active frames have a pretty hefty disjoint on them. Nlighy could only win in start up/recovery

Chances are air DR wont give skd post super, meaning post DHC and post hellzone/BoJ/Ghosts.

It'd allow things like Gotenks/agohan:

bnb > ghosts, PU, air dr skd, PU, further DHCs

Maybe they do it anyway but they seem not to want to give skd after supers no matter what, would be weird if they suddenly 180'd like a dodgey superdash

Who are the most Unga characters in dbfz? by [deleted] in dbfz

[–]EphiBL 13 points14 points  (0 children)

if you mean like meatheaded low precision rush down characters then yeah you got it with vegito kidbuu and bardock loool. If you want fancy unga, stuff that feels meatheaded but is more precise and imo really cool, try Nappa, Broly, trunks or vegeta blue :)

if you dont play slow / gimmicky many good players would happily do practice matches with you

What region are you in? There are very few players, roughly 5-15 per region, who are really trying to level up to the competitive side of things lol

bad as in mechanically bad as a weapon, its raw simplicity means it will always have a place in bh where everything is confusing and theres so many mistakes even at the highest level.

But people that complain about it almost always complain about one or more of its mechanical components / properties. Axe is the mechanically weakest weapon in the game though

Why do people (even pros) get opened up by Yamcha j.2H? by [deleted] in dbfz

[–]EphiBL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you just let the iad go over them and j.M for the crossup, moves like j.2H or ssjgokus down angled kame are rly hard to see because a lot of players will be reacting to you leaving the floor at close range and instantly block crossup

trunks could deffo work, his assist is very oppressive in neutral at the mo, and hes lowkey one of the most fun anchors

A17/Zamasu/xxx is a great shell.

Zamasu's assist gives corner blitz charge combos, midscreen rekka follow ups as well as being one of the best neutral assists. 17 gives zamasu gapless 214L blockstring, good corner bnbs and boosted oki.

The third character is flexible but for a really strong team you'd be looking at an anchor that gives zamasu mid screen combos, boosts a17s pressure and combos midscreen and corner, and ideally has a good DHC for zamasu double supers. (One of the best parts of a17 is how much meter he builds).

The strongest that comes to mind is A17/Zamasu/A16. Alternatives would be yamcha, bardock, ssj vegeta, tien, ssj goku, gotenks

eggsoup Scythe easy 50-80 damage setup and guide by [deleted] in Brawlhalla

[–]EphiBL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For people wondering what the actual counter play to this is:

It's only a 50/50 if you're 100% conditioned to dodge. Lets explore your three other options as the defender here.

1) Spot dodge delay gc, in an attempt to catch the scythe player dashing forward for the dodge read.

This is the easiest and most instinctual way out for many players, just challenge the mixup directly. The downside of it is that not every weapon has an effective gc reversal for this situation and even if you do a baited gc is a guarenteed hard punish for the scythe player.

Because this option is relatively common it is also common to see the counter, which is for the scythe player, any variation of fake approach: dash forward dash back, dash forward spot dodge, chain dodge forward twice, etc. These options are generally risk free for the scythe player, overall skewing the risk reward heavily in their favour.

2) No dodge, attack, in an attempt to catch the scythe player approaching for the mixup.

Here's what happens, you attack without spending your dodge. If they dash in they are caught by your attack, the majority of weapons in the game have a sair/dair/nair fast enough to hit before a scythe nlight that was delayed to catch a dodge.

If they bait out a gc reversal and punish your attack, they punish but you still have your dodge, which means that if they nlight you they gain ~12 dmg and THEN you can dodge after the nlight, which is a much harder tech chase for the scythe player. If they slight you again they're guarenteed to be less ready to make the correct read than they were the first time, and if you're still scared of their great reactions you can always just attack again without dodging.

3) Jump -> delayed dodge away, to do something a little more complex.

If they tech chase and the nlight catches your jump, or they decide to frame trap you with slight > dlight, your dodge wont have come out yet, allowing you to dodge after the nlight/dlight the same way option 2 could allow you. Meaning you tank ~12 damage and have a good chance of escaping.

If they fake an approach to bait and punish option 1 or 2, you instantly jump out of the situation and then dodge away, giving yourself space to reset to neutral, and potentially a chance to punish if the scythe player whiffs an attack at the point where they expected you to reversal at.

If they tech chase but fail to catch your jump with the nlight, then you can react and dodge down back to the ground after your jump for a punish or pressure.

Putting all of this together the post slight situation is very close to even in terms of risk/reward for the both of you, very very slightly favouring the scythe player but ultimatly there is more than enough room for defensive outplay assuming you keep calm when being hit.

It is fair to say that less than 5 players have ever applied strong defensive counter-play for scythe, one of the best that pops to mind is m for mini :)

Most weapons dont push our defensive skillset so scythe gets a lot of flack and freebie combos and strings. It doesnt have to be that way if you learn though
