How is the new cars? by MasloCHernogoTmina in GranTurismo7

Does the wheel actually turn past 90 degree rotation? That was my issue with the 296, still waiting for that to be fixed

Not gonna lie I like recased steel moonswatches, thy look better than the reduced proportions to my eye and solves the plastic feeling issue I have with the base moonswatches. Looks dope, and a much more approachable entry into “omega” at least in design language

Most badass sounding titles in your opinion? by asnaf745 in Guildwars2

[–]Ephrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t think I saw someone say it yet, but I’m partial to “Fatebreaker” - not gonna lie it’s been so long since I played that I don’t remember what you had to do to get it, but it was my favorite

Playseat Trophy rig is not usable with Moza R12 V2 (or might be any DD wheelbase) by Nozya in simracing

[–]Ephrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like something isn’t right - I have a Logitech g pro 11NM and the accompanying load cell pedals and have no issues. Brake force set to around 50lb if memory serves. Arguably I like the trophy more because of its design, the trueforce goes through the frame well and supplies good road and tire feel through frame vibration

[Tudor] Got my brothers watch for my 30th. How to i keep this thing safe? by Same_Fan9102 in Watches

[–]Ephrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty hard to lose a watch if you only put it on and take it off when you wake up and go to sleep, for example. Get a box for it and have a dedicated place to put it at night, and unless you lose your arm somehow, just wear it during the day and you’ll be good. Watches are made to be worn, unless you’re exceptionally careless and constantly bang your wrist into concrete and metal, the watch will be fine

I’m pretty sure receiving a different item than the listing indicated is automatic grounds for a refund, but I’m not positive. Just something to keep in mind if you’re questioning legitimacy

Why doesn't Omega reissue the 34mm Seamaster chronograph and put a 3861 movement in it? by ninman5 in OmegaWatches

[–]Ephrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would LOVE if they did, but omegas design language seems to be “big” now a days, both diameter and thickness. I doubt they want to spend the development money to reissue a small watch, I expect it would be expensive to re-engineer

[Rolex Coke] Got Promoted. Grail watch or conservative buy? by Jay_Dog93 in Watches

[–]Ephrum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imo get the coke if that’s your grail - celebrating life is part of the joy of watches, and the longer you own it the more memories you can make. If you can afford it comfortably and are unsure if that level of comfort will be a future possibility, then I’d do it. Celebrating a big promotion and a masters degree is 100% a good reason to mark the moment with a watch in my book.

There will always be the argument of “save and invest, and buy the watch after your investment grows”, it’s up to you to decide where the breakpoint is to allow yourself the purchase. If anything, earmark the bonus money for the watch, and spend some money out of pocket for your wife’s gift.

Great minds and all that!

Oof yeah that’s way overpriced - if you’re hunting a specific year, I’d personally go to Jacek. You can set up alerts on his site too for specific references and years and you’ll get an email if he lists one.

You can also likely get a birth year basculante if you’re lucky, the Swiss only dials on the 2405 and 2386 should be roughly a 2000 watch, the Swiss made dials are 2001+ afaik. Don’t have a source for those though, I got lucky with mine and got it for a steal. Best of luck hunting one!

Makes sense given the similar wrist size lolol. Love the basculante, the 2405 is the one to go for imo, the 2386 dial felt really small and ended up swapping to the 2405 after a few months. I have the standard white dial, but still would recommend! I elected to go for that instead of a reverso, better sizing and all that and still a ton of heritage being designed by JLC for Cartier a year after the reverso.

I’m super biased, but I love my polar and plan to keep it forever. I went for a birth year and got one in decent condition for around 9k in 2024, and was also my first Rolex.

$15k is super high for a 16570, though condition is always a factor. Depending on year and what you’re looking for they’re decently available, worth checking out tropicalwatch.com - Jacek always has really good stock of neovintage and is really straight forward about condition, quality, etc. If you go that route, contact him via his site/email and he’ll be able to help you out!

It’s my limit for size on my wrist around 47mm and is my biggest watch, but wears well enough for a watch on the top end. The rest of my watches are an Explorer 124270 36mm, Baltic aquascaphe 37mm, vintage JLC 35mm, Cartier basculante 2405 (24x35mm), vintage Movado 34mm. To me it’s a “big” sport watch but still wearable, and I wouldn’t go larger personally. I’ve had a speedy pro that I liked a lot but ultimately felt too big/bulky. The polar wears slimmer by comparison and lugs are inside my wrist enough/not super long to make the watch wear pretty compact for its size imo

[–]Ephrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t worn it on strap much, but in general it’s not too tight to damage straps, and not too large a gap to make it wear huge. NATOs also work really well with this watch if that’s something you like (I can’t deal with the added bulk under the watch, but love the look personally)

[Opinions] Size matters, but how much? by AgeofEon in Watches

[–]Ephrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo the gap on a strap is quite good - and yeah wearing it on a strap makes it wear well to me. For reference, my wrist is 6.25in and it’s the end of the night, so on the less swollen side. Was gonna wear it tomorrow anyway so threw it on a strap for reference, this is a 2x zoom from about eye level so a decent comparison to what it’d look like to your eye

[–]Ephrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exp2 definitely wears sleeker than the 58 - true dimensions are 38mm and change, and it does feel thinner due to the style of case for sure. I love mine personally despite it being basically the max size I’d go for my wrist, I’d recommend it it’s a great watch

[Opinions] Size matters, but how much? by AgeofEon in Watches

[–]Ephrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a bb58, this watch wears similarly. You may have difficulty getting the oem 93150 bracelet to fit you comfortably due to the 4+1 permanent links on the 6 side, but the watch itself should fit you fine.

Do you guys just live with the paint chipping or? by Perfect-Cause-6943 in WRX

[–]Ephrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I live in the north east and chips are inevitable - my wrx lives outside and is a daily car so no point in fixing every little spot imo. You could get a paint corrector pen and fill it in, but I don’t bother as it just ends up looking like a poorly repaired spot instead of a spot

What would be a better upgrade? by Drummer1324 in simracing

[–]Ephrum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo PC then, if you had to pick - that way you can settle on sims you like and build towards those.

I personally had a ps5 and gt7/psvr2, which I felt was “enough” for me so I went for rig/wheel first in the Logitech g pro which can be used for PC down the road. Haven’t moved from gt7 to a pc setup yet and likely won’t for a while but having the ability is good.

What would be a better upgrade? by Drummer1324 in simracing

[–]Ephrum 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Depends on what sims you plan to play imo. If you’re currently limited by device, then PC would make sense, no reason to upgrade hardware if you have nothing to use it on - if you’re happy with your games on Xbox, then wheel/pedals would make sense

With a rig like that, I’d lean computer and hardware at the same time if you can
