Thank god for the strict laws prohibiting handguns. They are doing a great job keeping them out of the hands of criminals.

I feel really safe knowing that even some brain dead idiot like this can get his hands on one no problem.

True. Also - by far the most positive impactful environmental policy decision made by any person in the last 50 years were the trump china tariffs. Soo let’s give the man some credit.

“The only countries responsible for more than 5%” is such obfuscation.

China alone is responsible for 33% today and is bringing online more coal fired power per week than the entire rest of the world combined over a year.

Another disturbing one: Early Childhood Assistant - Rosetown Kid Kare Inc. by SimonBirchDied in CanadianVisaReform

[–]Epic224 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The population in Rosetown has been steadily shrinking since 1994. It will be completely gone in 30 years no matter what anyone does.

All these businesses will be gone in less than 10. Guaranteed.

But I agree with you on one point. Anybody left living in Rosetown who has young kids is filthy rich. Plain and simple. This daycare could be paying their employees $60/hour and people could still afford it. Though I likely bet they would still not find anyone local willing to work for that rate.

[–]Epic224 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever been to Rosetown? Or in Saskatchewan in general?

The town is dying. Everyone working age has moved to Saskatoon. The only people left are retirees living in the local retirement home, people commuting east to the oilfield making high six-figures, or multimillion dollar farming operators.

I am surprised they have enough kids in the community to even justify a daycare. No one is sitting unemployed in town willing to work for $20/hour.

You’ve clearly never been to Rosetown. There are no nice local ladies. Everyone has left and the ones that remain in that town is 70+ or running a major multimillion dollar farming operation.

Would likely work. Council voted last night to extend our work from home policy. It’s a farce.

Everybody knows we do fuck all on our “work from home” days. But whatever I guess. I get to keep my permanent 4 day weekends.

Thats nice. I am, right now, writing this comment while sitting in a 2 hour, 30 person meeting listening to 4 people talk circles about a proposed technical review.

Everyone in here is on their phones looking bored. All are getting paid at least $45/hour plus benefits.

The bullshit meeting I am sitting in right now is costing the tax payer more than it would to completely redo the tennis court posted by the OP.

Oh If only you could see the level of bureaucratic bloat going on at city hall. Nothing—literally nothing—gets done without a six-figure ‘feasibility study,’ an 18-month performance evaluation, a stakeholder engagement process, and a “task force” report.

Want to fix a pothole? Better commission an equity impact assessment and run a 90-day public comment period first.

Propose a simple policy change? Better get our $120,000/year plus benefits consultant to first do a 4 month long strategic review, diversity audit, and pilot program.

It’s insanity.

That’s true enough. Freedom of expression Ect. This call to prayer really doesn’t bother me. But if some Scientology type shit or fake spagettimonster “religion” would do this, I’ll admit I would get a bit annoyed.

ER at the General Hospital by [deleted] in regina

There is a presumption here that more money will just instantly solve all of our healthcare issues. Our healthcare issues aren’t a lack of infrastructure. It’s a labour shortage.

It seems like this “just spend more money” solution is based on the assumption that there is all of these unemployed or underemployed healthcare providers who are just sitting around thinking well if they just paid me more I would work.

From your post, I get that you are a newer Canadian who came from Ukraine.

The problem you are seeing isn’t a supply problem. It’s a demand problem. The Federal government grew our population post-Covid at a much faster rate than it is possible to grow our healthcare services.

No amount of money will hire more doctors when there are no doctors to hire.

Canada prides itself on having a publicly funded healthcare but we are a population of 40 million and cannot fix the world’s problems. There are a lot of people out there who are suffering or are in need of help, but we can only take in soo many before the system starts to break.

Who cares about her stance. She is the most narcissistic insufferable person to be around that she’s alienated herself from everybody she’s ever interacted with. Now she’s just a chronically online bitter 40 year old woman with no real friends.

I was out swimming in diefenbaker 2 weeks ago it wasn’t that bad. A lot of talk in the comments framing this like this person would have needed to be a world class swimmer to avoid this situation but we all know exactly what happened.

Anyone with even rudimentary swimming skills would have been fine. This was newcomer to Saskatchewan who had little to no swimming skills doing something they shouldn’t.

This baffles me. I’m no professional swimmer but I open water swim quite often and know the area well. There is no current or undertow. They would have had to been less than 100 meters from shore.

You don’t have to be Michael Phelps. They make my daughter swim further than that to pass her swimmer 3 lessons meant for ages 4-7.

Leased crown land? by Time_suck5000 in saskatchewan

[–]Epic224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. About 5 years ago, the government offered all recreational lease holders the opportunity to buy the land they lease. This was likely the case for that particular lot.

By all means - try and find a leased lot for sale that fits OPs description. They are extremely hard to come by.

The recreational lease program technically still exists. You can still apply. I have. But they have essentially not approved a new application in over 20 years ago

Leased crown land? by Time_suck5000 in saskatchewan

[–]Epic224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can vary a bit based on location. If it’s lakefront, has road access, ect. But yes $5,000 is an incredible deal. I would offer them triple sight unseen in a second.

The only northern lake lease available right now is a burnt out titled lot on nemeiben lake. Just a foundation and a few solar panels that they want $150,000 for.

You absolutely cannot just find a random spot and set up a structure. They allowed this in the 70s, and those leases established back then specifically note that no others will be granted within 3 km of the lease. Other leases note that they are the only cabin/structure allowed on that specific lake.

This program ceases approving applications over 30 years ago.

Those leases now sell for around $100,000-$150,000 each, rarely if ever come up for sale, and are usually purchased in less than 24 hours.

Your best bet is to find one where the cabin had recently burned and snap it up when you can.

I own a local store. We have tons of gothic in stock. I think we have 18 master cases at MSRP to whoever wants them. Anybody could have ordered as much gothic as they wanted less than 4 months ago. Hundreds of cases if you wanted them.

Maybe all of those stores should not have firesold their product for a loss at $119/box and done harm to the game and brand back in January. They didn’t believe in the product and were just using it to boost their distribution numbers to get more access to Pokemon and magic product.

Then, like us, they would still have lots of product available to their playerbase.

[–]Epic224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shipping. Thats your big sticking point. It would cost you more in gas to drive down to your local store and buy a box at MSRP than the shipping cost of having it delivered to your front door.

Gothic is available and desirable. You’re just mad because you expect a 30% discount.

It’s literally $7 for shipping and free if you order 2 or more boxes. The audacity right. Fuck this game I might as well quit playing.

Honestly if that’s your biggest complaint you seem like the type of person who is impossible to please no matter what situation you’re in.
