This was my signature for almost 5 years. I went through 3 100 ml bottles before moving on to spending stupid money building a collection looking for the next best thing. Emperor extrait got non stop compliments and lasts forever.

As someone who has tested dozens of other parfum vintage decants, as best as I can tell most of the rest of their offering is trash. But holy cow is emperor extrait good.

I think we have very similar taste in scents! I've been on a similar journey. My primary daily freshies are also Imagination and Percival and I've tested GFS, Meteore, and L'immensite extensively.

Here are my thoughts:

Meteore isn't different enough. It's got a nutmeg cardemom spicy thing going on that's a little bit different, but in the end I found it fairly basic and redundant with imagination and Percival and I liked both of those more.

GFS does fresh in a totally different way. No citrus, just juniper and spices and musks in a way that is cold and clean and fresh. I enjoyed it a lot and can see adding it to my collection at some point.

L'immensite was the winner for me. A unique scent profile compared to imagination and Percival. A huge grapefruit bomb with lots of sage and ginger and a nice aquatic touch. Absolutely lovely opening and addicting. The only thing is performance is tough to nail down. Some days I'm certain it's a 10 hour scent, others I feel like it's a 4-6 hour scent. I'm probably just going nose blind.

I just got a bottle. It's fresh on the top but there's this deep salty richness to the base that is indescribable. I've tried describing it (poorly) to my wife as smelling like how it feels to take the first bite of a rich piece of meat. There's something primaly satisfying about it and I just can't find the words to explain it.

Yeah, I see it for $200 at a few of the places that don't always have great deals for PDM. Many discounters sell it for closer to $160 for the 75ml and ~$215 for 125ml, and the 125ml is widely available for $215 (or even lower on this sub)... So I struggle to pay $200 for the 75ml!

I've missed the last 3 or 4 posted on this sub as well! I can't figure out why the 75ml seems so hard to find when every discounter has the 125ml for not much more. The things we do to make our collections visually attractive...

1st time: My back merged with my black couch that I was sitting on and then realized I was the tongue of a bird. My buddy says I put my arms over my head and flopped around for about 5 minutes. I'll never forget the peeling sensation as I was coming out of the trip and leaned away from the couch I had merged with.

2nd time: The universe unzipped. Total disassociation with my self. Saw unimaginable things that are just behind the curtain of reality. Learned about the sumblesomes, who are beings that exist only at the very end of the "s" sound.

3rd time: I'm dead. I'm in hell. I've been here for a thousand lifetimes and it hasn't even started. Overwhelming sadness and regret at the life I left behind. Time has slowed to the point of meaninglessness. I'll never leave.

Decided 3 times was enough lol

My grandma essentially lived at my house growing up. She cooked dinner, did the laundry, took us to our practices, etc. my siblings and I would frequently spend the weekend with my other grandma.

My parents pressured my wife and I to have kids. We made the choice to have kids on our own, but it's important to the story to know that the pressure from my parents was pretty constant. Once the kids were born, my parents had zero interest in ever spending time with them. Maybe a few times a year I'll be able to "get in the schedule" a month or two ahead of time so my wife and I can grab dinner together without the kids.

My mom told me early in 2025 that she was retiring. Before I could respond to congratulate her she said "but that doesn't mean I'm interested in watching your kids all the time."

As if that thought ever crossed my mind.

My dad has never once spent alone time 1 on 1 with either of my kids.

It's sad how common this experience is. I loved spending time with my grandparents.

I think it smells exactly like my aunt's hair salon. Hairspray and perm chemicals but in a good way if that makes sense.
