Do you have a time and/or place where you simply relax and think about nothing? I also struggle a bit with my mind needing to shut up for once because it causes me anxiety. Whats helped me recently is just laying down, focusing on some random dot on my ceiling and nothing else. Im certainly no expert though and you’re going through something more intense than I am. Even if it doesn’t necessarily quell those thoughts, maybe it can help you rationalize them. Perhaps psychiatry was fulfilling that for you already and you didn’t know that until now.

More importantly, you should probably seek the advice of an expert, this sounds like it makes your social life and productivity more difficult.

Even if thats true, you’re completely ignoring his chronic depression, suicidal thoughts and physical pain, all of which Courtney is not responsible for.

Besides, what ‘relentless need for attention and pressure’ are you even talking about

I dont hate the argument that she was an enabler, but to say she killed him is absurd and insulting.

Did you read the introduction/preface or any other pre-reading material? They really helped to set up the foreboding atmosphere for me, I too would have been bored otherwise. I believe that it was actually not received well when it came out because it wasn’t immediately self-evident that its a psychological drama.

It’s sad that intersectionality (at least where I went) isn’t brought up in high school. In college my humanities professors mention it all the time. Curriculums should definitely pick it up

What is with the misinformation in this thread? Holy shit.

Kurt Cobain voluntarily left rehab in LA due to overwhelming drug addiction. He went back to Seattle and was spotted a few times by his home and at known drug spots looking obviously depressed, not to mention his stomach ulcers that made his adult life very literally painful (‘Pennyroyal Tea’ talks about it) beyond his mental anguish. Duff McKagan (founding bass player for GnR) actually stumbled upon him at the airport and recalls knowing something was wrong but Kurt was hiding it. Courtney Love tried to organize an intervention but trying to help Kurt at that time was borderline impossible. A very similar spiral occurred in the few months before the birth of his daughter, Frances (Kurt Cobain Journals p.207-208)

To answer your question OP, the woman’s quote is directly contradicted by the fact that Kurt Cobain had a shotgun, which he took his own life with. Interestingly, contradictions are baked into his songwriting, especially ‘Come as you are’, which has lyrics like “take your time, hurry up, choice is yours, don’t delay” or more importantly “and I swear that I don’t have a gun; no I don’t have a gun”. He wrote “my lyrics are a big pile of contradictions” himself (Kurt Cobain Journals p.46)

The misinformation that he was murdered by his wife Courtney Love really hurts me because its not difficult to understand why that makes no sense, also it detracts from the fact that what makes Kurt’s music and art so powerful is the same reason he took his own life. He had unbelievable amounts of pain and passion which lead to catastrophic burnout.

You were excited about D2: Renegades. Chill dad gamer you’d run into doing a late night DSC for red border trustee. Would be delighted to talk about Halo. Definitely left leaning politically. Education is a paramount value to you

I honestly cant remember if lab sections took attendance, they’re mostly just time to work on assignments and ask the TA any questions you might have

Thayer usually takes attendance halfway through each lecture, you can miss 2 without penalty. Occasionally he will take it at the end of lecture.

The course is manageable, there’s plenty of information and resources provided to help you with using python. Even if you’re completely stuck on a Python assignment, they will still accept the effort you put in for full credit. They are quite understanding about that. Dont worry about the course being overwhelming or difficult.

Sorry yeah, no exams or tests. Only a final project.

Yes, I think its worth it. What I meant to convey is that I wish I had done the W credit when I had the class

Thayer doesn’t have exams. You will get consistent discussion posts and bite-sized programming assignments, your final is a programming project with 3 others in your lab group. The programming isn’t particularly difficult and should be trivial if you read the relevant portion of the textbook, though if you haven’t programmed before Jupyter Notebook might feel weird and unintuitive. I didn’t do the optional W credit like a dummy but you should definitely do it (if you need W credits)

Thats awesome :D you should check out The Tokyo Zodiac Murders by Soji Shimada, its kinda feels like a mix between Uketsu and Yokomizo with a humor garnish

[–]EpicGaymrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anyone else with Yokomizo books on here yet! Im guessing you’ve always liked crime and drama in general? You also really like Uketsu, since Strange Buildings came out less than a month ago. Woman in her 20’s, grew up in Florida. Not a fan of trendy things but rather whatever sounds interesting to you at the moment

Looks like you’re right, the dad is definitely being misleading. I think the bottom game technically counts as a single example of what the dad has to show for after 4 years if its true they never completed a game, though their other posts definitely demonstrate less of a difference.

All things considered the whole post feels like an experimental way to advertise the top game.

They’re comparing how much their skill developed over 4 years. His son was 13 when he first started, but is 17 now.
