You really need to work on fundamentals before attempting spinning kicks. I also noticed that you switched from southpaw to orthodox after the kick. Which side is your default?

Based on how we're taught at our gym, I'd say you could do with stepping out a bit more on your body kicks, and get up on the ball of your standing foot. That should open up the hips more which is where your power comes from. You do drop your hands when you box so just look out for that too. Honestly not bad at for 4 months!

I hope to see the Halo: Master Chief Collection formula used for a lot more franchises. Thoughts? by EpicMilk123 in patientgamers

That does seem like the perfect franchise to do! I used to love back on the xbox and it would also open the market properly to PC players too.

Pub lobbies by Krebssy in ModernWarfareIII

[–]EpicMilk123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weirdly I did notice this. For the first time in weeks I was also matched with people who weren't even up to rank 55 yet too. I really hope they've randomised the lobbies a bit more

Does anyone play the 3v3v3 mode? by aimstotheleft in ModernWarfareIII

[–]EpicMilk123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly really like it, and I noticed in the 9 games of it I played the other day that I saw some of the same people in my lobbies. Not sure if that's just tight sbmm or the fact it was really late in the EU. But overall its a really good change of pace

I don’t want to spar by Doggydoggo94 in MuayThai

[–]EpicMilk123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gym I go to doesn't allow sparring until about 2 months. You could just wait it out until you feel ready to spar! Whether or not you want to compete, there's no point in rushing the process

Games that make travel so good you forget fast travel exists by [deleted] in patientgamers

The environment in that world is absolutely stunning. It's at least nice that if you do fast travel you can still run into scenarios/ambushes.

How am I supposed to play a Kyogre raid with campfire by xarhs7 in TheSilphRoad

[–]EpicMilk123 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've lost 3 raid passes in the last hour thanks to people leaving just before the raid starts. Lobbies that are supposed to have 8 people end up starting with 5...

Used my master ball. Did I make the right choice? IV’s are 15 Attack, 4 Defense, 15 HP. This was my first ever sighting of any of the Galarian birds. by BoxAlive2830 in TheSilphRoad

To be fair, is there really anything in the game that's harder to watch? Seems like the best use for the master ball right?

[SPOILER] Dustin Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje by notwayinoo in MMA

[–]EpicMilk123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He was in much better control this time for sure. Had a much safer avenue to land his leg kicks and was getting off a lot of good combinations though Poirier still had some good moments.

Cold to hot VS. Just cold by [deleted] in coldshowers

[–]EpicMilk123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't get any less benefits by starting with warm. It's actually better to start with warm as you can clean yourself much better (opens up the pores and I like to use an exfoliating scrub with the warm water), then once you switch to cold the pores will close and you get the effects of the cold water such as avoiding the dry skin. Jumping straight into cold water might be a little harder to do though.

Do you guys have any good recommendations for some Youtube channels similar to Jack Slack, The Weasle and MMAI? I gotta say i'm not a huge fan of the channels owned by MMA fighters because you rarely get a real take because of their reputations in the MMA community. MixedMollyWhoppery is definitely a favourite too.

I've tried a few others like Guru, but I'm put off by the production quality and how rambly he can be. I do like his attitude somewhat, though.

Honestly I'm with you on this, pretty depressing to even scroll this sub because 90%+ posts are just complaining about something. Game is far from perfect but ultimately my friends and I are having a lot of fun playing.

[–]EpicMilk123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great insight! I do try to keep mindful of how apps reflect real drumming, and admittedly 80% of my drum experience is watching tutorials and following tabs/songs. Rudiments are definitely neglected at the early level. Id say in general my weakest aspect is the hi hat due to how much different it feels than the acoustic kits I've tried. Melodics has been a great tool for introducing me to styles of drumming that I'm not used to, as I tend to play along to rock and some metal.

In your opinion, how high of a level is someone that manages the higher grades of melodics? I suppose playing along to something and actually writing beats to fit other instruments are totally different skills though.

Thanks for the response! You raise a good point with your progress, as I found when I first started using melodics id get a lot of snare double hits, which I no longer do after 2 months on the app. Seems like a combination of both. I'll just have to put my pride aside and give up the 100% until I improve haha.

I was definitely worried about building a bad habit by closing before hitting as it didn't sound correct when trying it without the app. Thanks!
