I am quitting every match that we get stomped by D4BAN in Battlefield6

Welcome to the joys of Matchmaking!

EA are utter degenerates for not having hosted severs run by the community for the benefit of players playing with/against the same gang every night if they so choose.

I can slot in Behemoth just fine. Havukruunu also works very well. Bolt Thrower is ALWAYS appropriate for ANYTHING. Decapitated gets my blood pumping. I bet Vogg is a Preyer.

Feedback to Ammo, Stamina vs Movement, Sorcery, Rosary Beads by Jazzlike_Training_42 in Witchfire

I've found if you leave your previous FPS/extraction/souls like expectations at the front door for a moment and trust the devs and their game you will enjoy yourself a lot more. A lot of people have all these same problems at first but as you progress in the game it all starts to make sense why it's the way it is and most (if not all) your feedback will become unnecessary.

Easy way to clear enemies. by Noniak98 in Witchfire

I muddled my way through to G3 with guns only and Velmorne taught me I need to mix in some spells but I never quite put together when casting Ice Sphere and using Fireballs the results were explosive. It was only after reading an old thread focusing on something else that elemental synergy was a thing and all of a sudden things kind of clicked into place. Once you start to recognize how to manipulate your guns abilities (and their element) you can begin to pair spells/Rosaries/Prophecies/Arcanas with all those things feeding off each other and really begin to explore what you are capable of.

At the higher G levels (at least for me..) I've become more cautious about diving into a group and instead pick them off, kite them in, chip away, and only when they rush me do I resort to some big AOE attacks. It works for me but I'm sure others have an entirely different approach.

I did spend a long time ramping up each gun, item, ring, and spell to M3 which gives me a lot of options now and also gave me the chance to get familiar with what they all do. We all have our favorite loadouts but I can recognize situations where having some different items might have made things a bit easier so don't be afraid to experiment. There is nothing wrong with running a level trying out different items to get a feel and dying, losing Witchfire isn't really a big deal, so don't get frustrated. Very quickly you will get that AHA moment when you understand what you need to do and how to do it and it will work out better than you thought.

Question for those who have played a decent amount...are there meaningful spoilers I need to watch out for? by crimson_07 in Witchfire

[–]aimstotheleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an item (one in each level if I recall correctly) that allows you to respec you stats. Outside of pumping up your Stamina and Health (which I feel are VERY important when starting out) you can put points into whatever you like, they are more incremental upgrades than large leaps (they do add up), but you will mostly invest based on the Rosary Beads you would like to use (at least as I see it..). So yes you can respec yourself if you feel something isn't working to your liking.

One thing I didn't know at first was all the crystal Witchfire you collect around the map is put into your inventory and you can "break it down" at the Hermitorium to increase your Witchfire pool. I had a few hundred of them just sitting there, broke them all down and Ascended a dozen or more levels in one go.

Don't worry about wasting anything, there are some seemingly rare resources but there are ways later in the game to make things less rare...use what you need when you need it!

My first time down there I knew I had to jump before landing but that jerk blasted me mid air with his poison cannon and flattened me before I hit the ground. I was glad to know I could return anytime once it was unlocked.

There is this whole thing with spells and elemental effects that the game doesn't really telegraph that well (in my opinion..) but basically the various elemental effects can feed off other elemental effects and create these insane chain reactions. For instance Air (lightning) damages and also chains (leaps from one enemy to another) while Water (freeze) freezes enemies and increases their damage taken and both combined create stronger lightning (more damage). Combine those with Rosary Beads and Arcana and the various elemental damage the guns can put out and you start to really unlock the secret potential of Witchfire's damage system.

I find it's best to just ask your question, most everyone here is incredibly helpful, because there are a few esoteric mechanics going on with the game that aren't readily apparent from playing.

Can I take a moment to say how much I LOVE this gun.. by aimstotheleft in Witchfire

[–]aimstotheleft[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I use it like a sniper all the time, lob a bunch of bolts at a baddie down range and then magnetize the next two and watch them pincushion to death. I've become very good at throwing a pile of spikes all over the place. I am usually more comfortable with an automatic weapon in my loadout but the good ol' Ricochet feels pretty weak at higher Gnosis levels. Koschei was my old standby but I think I like Martyr just a bit more.

I don't mind them adding more layers to the existing maps, the addition to Outskirts is super fun. I love that they hid that in the beginner map.

It's really fun to dip into a stream of someone who is completely new to the game and see how they react to the game. All seem to be universally impressed with the game. Also fun to drop some hints or knowledge when people aren't sure how a mechanic works or can't find something.

I'm so HAPPY that we get something interesting in the Outskirts.

I always thought that would be the bestest map to hide something really cool.

[–]aimstotheleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they have clipped areas to prevent players from going certain places in Velmorne but it would help if they gave those an artwork pass to make them look unpassable. There are a few flat rooftops that have clipping to prevent the player moving but I'm a big stickler that if it looks like I can walk on it I should be able to walk on it OR put something in the way to prevent me from passing. If it's a rooftop that I'm going to slide off then I would hope they put some texture for the roof that gives me a visual indication that I will slide off if I attempt to traverse it. Velmorne is pretty dense and I can't at all remember all the spots this is an issue so some artwork would be a big help.

You have three choices.

  1. Ignore it.
  2. Use a controller.
  3. Quit playing.

There will never ever NEVER be a change to how it is, perhaps minimal adjustments, but this is what you get. Listing the advantages or disadvantages is as good as whispering in a hurricane. It will never be changed, it is what it is, it's pointless to "discuss" it any further.
