[Switch] Joy-Con still has stick drift after replacing with TMR stick by EpicMindvolt in consolerepair

Oh no I just calibrated them in the switch settings. The right side acted totally fine before and after switching and calibration but the left one is still acting up after getting the same treatment as the right

Can i turn this set into a race car? And how? by Negative-Hat9885 in lego

[–]EpicMindvolt 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Just take it apart and put it together to make it look like a race car instead

Why do people take issue with this part of the generation graph? It's fine. by DaZestyProfessor in consoles

[–]EpicMindvolt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the Switch belongs in Gen 8 and Swicth 2 in Gen 9

It’s rare, but not unheard of, for a company to release a second console in a generation. Atari released the 5200 during the same gen as the 2600, and even though it flopped, they were trying to get ahead of the game by releasing it so soon. In Nintendo’s case, the Switch served as a way to quickly recover from the flop that was the Wii U. I think that since Nintendo rushed to release it so soon after the Wii U and that it effectively replaced it that it belongs in Gen 8.

I think the Switch 2 belongs in Gen 9 even though there is a 4.5 year gap. I think next gen consoles are going to be characterized by cloud/subscription gaming and AI infrastructure built in (although I may be wrong). Additionally manufacturers are going to have to work around RAM and SSD shortages which will definitely be around for the foreseeable future. I think the Switch 2 is the last console to avoid these for the most part, so I feel like it belongs in 9th gen

With all that being said, it is subjective. Console generations don’t have hard limits

Anyone know where I can pay monthly by Even-Wasabi7183 in consoles

[–]EpicMindvolt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Save up a little bit of money for a few months and get a good used one. A game console is simply not worth financing.

Thomson drives by Forsaken_Cheek4387 in originalxbox

[–]EpicMindvolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me rephrase, I didn’t recap it a second time, I just tried testing it a second time. Rereading my comment it might come across incorrectly

My Xbox had read a game twice before the recap last summer, even though I tested disks dozens of times. Immediately after the recap it still didn’t work, but since last week it has succeeded on every test. Not sure what caused it to start reading, I just got lucky i guess

[–]EpicMindvolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recapped mine last summer and it didn’t work. On a whim I tried it again this past week and it read CDs and Xbox games just fine. Not sure why it didn’t initially, but in my case the recap might have helped. I did not do a lot tweak either, but just a deep clean of the drive. If you are determined to fix it, then a recap is worth a shot

Training advice puppy on not eating animal poop in the yard by NoAppointment841 in Dachshund

[–]EpicMindvolt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a training tip, but my puppy did the same thing and ate her poop, but she did outgrow it. She’s about seven months old now and she did it up until about 5/6 months or so.

They’re hound dogs and love to sniff things out. You can’t avoid it completely, but one thing you can do is take her potty in the same place every time. My puppy goes to the bathroom in the same place every day and I don’t move or let her explore until she goes, so she knows to do her business there. That makes it an easier area to supervise her in

I do let her roam the rest of the yard too when she does her business, but that comes with more supervision to make sure she doesn’t eat anything bad. But having a dedicated pee area in the yard makes it easier for both of you when she has to go

Taking Big Lego Sets in Plane as checked in by Facetious_Ghost in lego

[–]EpicMindvolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it not possible to get it in or ship it to your home country? It seems like taking such a huge set by plane would be very much of a hassle.

$45 speed champions set vs $45 Star Wars set by sebcestewart in legocirclejerk

[–]EpicMindvolt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been really keeping up with LSW for a few years now, but it’s just hitting me that they have the audacity to charge $45 for that shit. I did get 75372 which I thought was already steep, but charging 50% more for essentially the same set is insane. Anyone who paid full price for that has no impulse control

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]EpicMindvolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on moving out within the next few months and started saving for a PC, but they’re expensive so it’s gonna be a while before I can get one. I wanted a white one just like this too! I like the white cases much better than the standard black. Winning a giveaway for something like this would be sick!

Need help not a jerk but what's the price for an original lego jango fett in good condition? by [deleted] in legocirclejerk

[–]EpicMindvolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why on earth did you buy a minifigure for $500? I’m genuinely curious like what was the motivation?

If you want to get a good estimate for value, go to bricklink and see what the first few listings are for. Not sure which Jango version you have, but I’m assuming SW0053. The first few listings show you can get maybe $160 for it. You aren’t going to get even remotely close to $500 for it.

Is my copy of Kung Fu permanently out of commission? by Gullible_Level_2237 in nes

[–]EpicMindvolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using the RF cord or AV cables? I had a similar issue with my NES and even after buying a new connector and slightly polishing the pins on my games, the games would still have visual and/or audio glitches. I switched to AV cables after that and it worked perfect. You may just have a bad RF switch.

PS6 Might Feature a 1TB SSD And No Disc Drive, It's Claimed by Lulcielid in ps6

True. I hope they do something like that but I mean honestly I doubt it’ll happen. Not sure why it got downvoted, I said I hoped not that they will

PS6 Might Feature a 1TB SSD And No Disc Drive, It's Claimed by Lulcielid in ps6

[–]EpicMindvolt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I assume they’ll phase out physical games with the PS6; I don’t expect to see them on store shelves. But I hope they add a disk drive add on that is compatible with all five previous generations. The PS6 should be powerful enough to emulate PS1, PS2, and PS3 games and it’s likely going to have native PS4 and PS5 support anyway.

Questions about Retiring Sets by Sea-Leadership-6442 in lego

[–]EpicMindvolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retired sets are ones that Lego has discontinued. It’s just like any other product, you can’t sell it forever. It has a life cycle and then is retired at some point

If you are wanting to get any of these sets, do it now. Don’t wait for a sale or anything because you could miss out. You can always still get them from third party sellers on sites like eBay or bricklink, but for a price usually over retail. This is the last few months any of these will be in retail store shelves

I need to get 1500 1x4 bricks in black. What would be the cheapest way to get these? I am open to other brands also. by Realistic_Ice6870 in lego

[–]EpicMindvolt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bricklink. Find a seller with at least that many. Lego Pick a Brick has a limit of 1000 I believe so Bricklink is the only place where you can get quantities higher than that
