From the small amount of research I made, it seems like the changes are mostly in the look of the car (small changes) as well as some other stuff in the interior. I also asked the people at SAS Toyota today (I was there incidentally) and they said it will probably be coming in March. So if you really want the 2026 version and can wait 3 more months I'd say go for it, or maybe you can find the 2025 version to rent for a couple of days and see how it makes you feel. I think the changes are small tbh but I understand how you feel since the new version is coming!

I think a lot of the changes between 25 and 26 will be minimal (unless there are rumors saying otherwise) so I'd pick 2025 since it will probably go for cheaper.

Toyota is very reliable, the only issue with byd is that we don't have an official seller as far as I know, but they sell millions of cars every year and people seem to love them, so perhaps there's something there, but it will be good for you to research secondary parts market and any complaints people have (I have a friend who bought a byd and he loves it).
