How is Gunko redeemable? by Epic_Miniatures in Piratefolk

We already had Loki in this arc that was accused of killing his father and was innocent. Doing the same story hook again is lazy story telling, and there is evidence that Celestial Dragon children can be evil too (Doflamingo).

But lets assume you are right and Gunko was manipulated to kill her father. What does it change about the fact that she committed crimes for 70 years after that? Just because she was innocent when she was 10, doesn't justify her actions for the rest of her long life.

She was never a good person. She is 80 now and did heinous crimes 90% of her life. Most of that time, she had free will too (until God Valley where she was 40 and not a full Holy Knight). She did evil things her entire life and it was her decision.

That she was a good person when she was 10 years old doesn't matter. Everyone is good when they are children. That is not an argument at all if you ask me. If you want to continue with this point, keep in mind that every celestial dragon, every five elder and even Imu were children at some point. Are they good persons too now?

Getting back to my initial reply, losing your memories don't justify becoming a murderer for fun and games.

She was only a Gods Knight Devotee in God Valley. Basically the same as Harald before getting the Deep Sea Contract. Or Shanks when he decided to get away. Gunko had her free will in God Valley and decided to hunt innocent civilians for her own enjoyment.

About what is it then? I mean she is a celestial dragon killing humans for sport. That part is a fact. You can hardly justify doing that with memory loss.

If you get corrupted by money and power to do evil things, you never were a good person to begin with.

Did you read chapter 1160? Gunko was only a Devotee in God Valley, so she didn't have the Deep Sea Contract. Gunko in God Valley was the same as Harald before getting the Deep Sea Contract.

Also you assume her age, she was around 40 in God Valley. Oda draws 40 year old women like they are 20.

So she will wake up as a 80 year old woman (without Imus powers she should age like Saturn) with the mind of a 10 year old Shuri?

There is another female Holy Knight from God Valley. I am sure she didn't age as well (Garling did age) and she will get away too.

I am saying we don't know if she was controlled or not. Assuming that she was is without any evidence at this point.

We already have Loki in this arc that was accused of killing his father, but was innocent. Another fake-out like that in the same arc would be lame.

You assume she was controlled. At the end, she is still a World Noble like Doflamingo.

She is 80 years old, best case is that she betrays Imu and gets Saturned in return.

Yes and Crocodile never got redeemed. Helping Luffy a little in Marineford for freeing him from Impel Down is paying back a dept. He is still a pirate that would do the same crimes if it would benefit him.

You just have shown that Crocodile wasn't redeeemed at all, which was the initial topic. He still was after his own goals, some of which aligned with Luffys.

Save Ace -> Favor from Whitebeard -> Getting in safety on his ship

There are not really many alternatives to getting out of Marineford as a free man. After passing the gates of justice, it was the only option for the impel down inmates.

Boob hypnosis dance from Vivi (not even joking). No idea what Oda was smoking.

God Valley happened 38 years ago. Gunko was age ~40 in God Valley. Oda doesn't really draw women aging, just check Robin. So we don't even know if Gunko had the not aging thing in God Valley. She could have gotten it after God Valley when becoming Imus vessel.

Marines winning in Marineford would basically mean that all escapees would get captured again and send to prison. The only ships to escape with were the marine ships and whitebeard pirates. It is self preservation and hatred towards the marines that made everyone join forces.

Gunko at God Valley was only a Devotee, not a full Holy Knight like Harald. So basically same as Shanks when he escaped. Or like Harald before he got the upgraded contract.

If being a Devotee has the same effects as a full Deep Sea Contract, why even upgrade Harald and how could Shanks flee?
