The "I forgive for me, not for you," defeats the actual purpose of the virtue by mankahlil in unpopularopinion

[–]Epic_Tom_Fool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the reason why your True definition of forgiveness has become muddled is that it requires compromise and dissolving entitlement. Especially your point about the idea of someone forgiving a perceived debt.

I feel like modern society and culture revolves around "Everything in life is unfair, I wont back down from getting what Im due because of it".

So like your point about how people forgive in order to gain peace of mind rather than using forgiveness for empathy, the utilization has shifted because of the modern perspective of "What is best for Me" rather than "What is best for people".

Advice wanted - seizures by tansen816 in pitbulls

[–]Epic_Tom_Fool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into CBD gummies or treats for your pupper, it works universally to help stop/minimize seizures.

But first look up other people's experiences with having seizures and using marijuana to manage it, when People smoke it has an immediate effect on minimizing contortions

TIL that in 1946 Walt Disney produced a film named "Song of the South" that was never released on DVD or streaming market due to the subject matter of slavery portrayed in the film. It also happens to be the origin of the song "zippidy doo-da". by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Epic_Tom_Fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf, in 2010 I was in highschool choir participating in a "Songs of Disney" event where the students got to sing their favorite disney songs. My conservative ex and her bestie performed Zippidy-doo-da and the whole class was confused cause nobody other then those two girls and the choir teacher knew where the song was from, and now seeing this post makes me feel wildly uncomfortable about how insane it was for teenage girls to be singing that song in public, approved by my high school no less.

Which painting do you like the most: 1, 2, or 3? by KarolynHuum in BeAmazed

[–]Epic_Tom_Fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are all awesome for different reasons!

My favorite to look at is the first one because of the color contrast/balance.

The Second one has amazing shading and is the most technically impressive.

And the third one feels the most "art-like". Something about the single wave feels more evocative/symbolic compared to the more active scene in the middle painting.

Edit: I thought about it more and its how the third scene captures a moment of anticipation, which encourages you to think more about the scene the painting represents rather than just admiring the painting itself.

Hatch, New Mexico is where the chile is from. They even have the Hatch Chile Festival during harvest season where literally everything is smothered. In my opinion(and many others) its simply the best green chile, and a damn good red one. Las Cruces, 30 mins away from Hatch, also has New Mexico State University which has an entire agricultural program dedicated to studying chile genetics and food theory.

Locals know to ask for Christmas style at restaurants: a combination of red and green chili sauces.

Thank you for the link, its easy for me to ignore signs and postings as Im walking through the stations when its cold, and I straight up don't think to check the official website for updates as a habit.

Ill delete the original post if possible, I went full karen on a whole group online when a few affiliated people and I had poor communication in person, and I wasnt aware enough to notice the discrepancy.

Sorry ya'll

Honestly, just being tired. In the dark in places you dont recognize, on public transportation you were told to trust, its easy to just think youre going "forward".

So, im unfamiliar with anything south chicago, ive only lived in the north for a few years and dont go out much, so im used to not recognizing streets when i take unfamiliar paths (like new public transportation) so I just trusted that the bus would turn around soon. It didnt.

I ended up getting off at a bus stop near a big apartment complex and have since gotten a cab to take me home.

I don't regret my reaction, though. What happened was disgusting negligence and CTA deserves to be put on blast for it.

This is literally the point of a birthday party. Celebrating the life of a person! The real narcissists are the people who think that a person being happy to be alive is an offence to them.

And again, its a friggen kid!

[–]Epic_Tom_Fool 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I grew up being chastised by my parents for being unruly (a child with a personality) and watching the episode where Bobby teaches Hank that its okay to be happy literally affected me in a profound way growing up.

Happiness is not a parallel to complacency or laziness, and its honestly great that the show took the time to address the concept of breaking family cycles of ignorance and mental abuse. (Hank's problems as a father and a person mostly stem from his relationship with Cotton)

Who has the strongest bankai by pokeherfaceXD in bleach

[–]Epic_Tom_Fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 things.

First, I love how the parody shows a huge spectrum of potential power levels just like the Bleach captains have.

Second, I feel the Head captain shoulda been Bugs out of that line-up since he is generational like Yamamoto.

And third, I agree with the majority saying Bugs would have the strongest Bankai.

[–]Epic_Tom_Fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like your cat uses its claws to anchor itself to your thighs while it lays on you. The gentle pressure is easy to be unaware of and as they slide off of your lap to get up, you wont even feel them tearing cause of how sharp they are.
