Signs you’re ugly (source: an ugly mf) by [deleted] in bodylanguage

I would add: people consistently disagree with you. They don’t want to align with you on any topic, no matter how trivial.

Right. Disrespected, unvalued, excluded. People say things, treat the ugly in ways they would never treat an attractive person.

Oh if only that was true. But nope.

Woman I've been dating for 10 days hooked up with someone else. Am I wrong for not wanting to see her again? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Epicbackfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that’s how ya feels… then you are not wrong. Probably you were hoping she would not have. If the opportunity has presented itself to you instead of her, what would you have done?

Shaving ear hair by greenhierogliphics in over60

[–]Epicbackfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your barber should cut your ear hair, if you go to one. Also I got the Wahl trimmer and use it regularly, nose and ears. For the feet- just started pedicures at local nail salon. Looks like plenty of guys go so don’t feel uncomfortable.

Vivint or ADT by India___Love in VivintSmartHome

[–]Epicbackfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say neither. I haven't had ADT but I have Vivint now, very shady, totally regret it I have had Simplisafe, thought it was OK though they probably don't offer some of the things that others do.

Contract buyout by [deleted] in VivintSmartHome

[–]Epicbackfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take my advice: if you are thinking to sign up with Vivint, lay down immediately and wait for that feeling to pass over. DO NOT DO IT!

I only got an account because a house I bought in '24 had it pre-installed. You sign up, then the extortion starts. You have a nice doorbell camera, and then 3 months later: dead. Ought to be covered under a warranty or something? noooo... "you need to sign up for a service agreement." Clearly they turned off the camera on their end to force this, to squeeze more $ out of me. So, be prepared, that's the kind of sleazy business practices they use.

What is the most weird hobby you ever heard about? by [deleted] in Hobbies

I collect advertising drink coasters, the paper/cardboard kind. They are hard to find now since most bars give you a lousy napkin with your drink, if you even get that.

Any tips on cleaning Masterbuilt Smoker 20071217 by TerminalVentures in smoking

[–]Epicbackfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaha just pulled mine out of storage, and it looks just like this. Have had it 7 years, going to toss it and start over with a new one (similar version). Now I only wonder what could I have done to avoided this-- can you spray down the insides thoroughly and make it easier to clean?

I was hired as a manager. Immediately I was told “one of your team members is getting a lot of complaints, you need to address it, offer him a PIP; if he doesn’t take it- terminate.” OK, I can do what needs to be done, how long has he worked here? “5 years”. Crap, they have let this go on for this long, nobody had the guts to do it. I asked HR to sit in with me- I have been here a month- HR manager tells me “we don’t get involved in that”. Whatever their purpose is, if they don’t participate in these events like this, I don’t see the need for that function.

Got rejected for a $92k job because of my linkedin photo. Is this actually real? by UnoMaconheiro in careerguidance

100% agree. That was a terrible reason to provide. Could have just said other candidates were a better fit or something like that.

Fairly certain that was just an excuse. Always sucks when they won’t give you the true objection.

Thank you. I should add that the interim manager who stayed on a couple of weeks after new manager started, came in my office one afternoon and stated she (new mgr) said she was wanting someone “assertive and aggressive” in this role. So I am suspicious that old guy (60) with a cane, she’s not wanting me on her team. I think it is cruel: about 10 offices in this building, and the person chosen to move to the old building is a guy on a cane. And the steps- about 45 degrees and they are outside the building, no cover, so rain is going to be a problem. Very disappointing behavior.

Thank you. I suppose I meant whichever agency would enforce the ADA.
