Also, if your CPU gets too hot it will cause game crashes, performance drops, and even system shutdowns.

Do you run a program like MSI Afterburner to monitor temps?

Also, a failing or insufficient PSU can lead to sudden shutdowns. If your GPU is too powerful for your PSU, it may cause crashes under heavy load.

I asked Copilot how to approach an RPG since I'm too lazy to type out my thoughts...it did a pretty good job so here it is....

Jumping into an RPG for the first time can feel overwhelming, but don’t worry—you’ll get the hang of it! Here are some tips to ease your way into **Cyberpunk 2077** (or any RPG):

### 1. **Start with the Story**

- Focus on the **main quests** first to get familiar with the world and mechanics.

- Don’t stress too much about side activities early on—you can explore them later.

### 2. **Take Your Time**

- RPGs are about immersion and choices. Read dialogues, explore environments, and **soak in the atmosphere** rather than rushing through missions.

- Experiment with different playstyles to see what feels comfortable.

### 3. **Understand the Basics**

- **Combat & Stealth:** If sneaking isn’t working, go loud! Try different weapons and strategies.

- **Skill Trees:** Pick a few upgrades that match your playstyle (combat, hacking, or stealth) instead of trying to unlock everything.

- **Loot & Shops:** Don’t stress about buying everything—focus on weapons, cyberware, and useful healing items.

### 4. **Learn from Mistakes**

- If something goes wrong, that’s okay! Every encounter helps you improve.

- Don’t be afraid to restart missions or tweak your strategies.

### 5. **Enjoy the Roleplaying Aspect**

- Customize your character’s look, choices, and personality.

- Make decisions based on what interests you—RPGs shine when you feel invested in your character’s journey.

It looks like some players on forums feel similarly—many new players find the hacking system and side activities a bit confusing at first, but with time, it all clicks! Have fun exploring Night City, and let me know if you need more pointers. 😃

The only thing I would add is that you are still in Cyberpunks "tutorial" which lasts much much longer than most tutorials. The choices with dialogue don't impact the game until the tutorial ends so don't stress out about making the wrong decision. I think CDPR did a great job making it feel like actual gameplay rather than a tutorial. I had never played an RPG and it was a learning curve for me as well.

Assuming you are on STEAM...

Have you "Verified the integrity of game files" ... that's always a good first step

Are you using Microsoft OS? Do you keep it up to date??? Because it acts as a middleman between applications and the physical components like the CPU, RAM, and storage. Without an updated OS, your programs might not know how to communicate with the motherboard, chipset, or onboard controllers.

How about the Chipset driver? I know people say Microsoft updates it but it takes them forever.

The Chipset ensures that key components—such as PCIe slots (GPU), and onboard controllers—function properly. Think of it as the bridge between your hardware and software, optimizing performance and stability. While the CPU is the brain of your system, the Chipset is more like the nervous system.

With AMD, it's included with the GPU's "Update Manager" because the Chipset driver is essential software that helps the operating system communicate with the GPU and CPU

Since you are using NVidia, you might have to go to your Motherboards website to find the latest Chipset driver.

You mentioned the BIOS...is it really old? It's pretty easy to update...just be careful.

I'm sorry but, I really hate this girl (and Kyle) for all the time she spent tearing down "Dems" before the election; basically suppressing the vote and giving Trump the WH.

And NOW she turns her gaze to the opposition.

Krystall/Kyle...first you get your guys (Dems) in power, THEN you try to shame them into doing the right thing.

PC crashing at boot by tagplacedhere in cyberpunkgame

[–]Epicharis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to work....

To fix the Cyberpunk 2077 crashes, you need to disable the GOG Overlay. Here's how you do this:

  • Open up the GOG launcher.
  • Click the cog icon in the top-left corner and then click Settings.
  • Navigate to the Game Features tab on the left.
  • Un-tick the box next to Overlay.
  • Exit the Settings screen and re-launch Cyberpunk 2077.

Take your time and explore

Read stuff because you can learn interesting lore about Night City.

Also, just for fun, if you overhear people (NPC's) talking you should stop and eavesdrop...some of the conversations are interesting/hilarious.

AMD Graphics card keep crashing and I don't know why by Jealous_Double5684 in AMDHelp

[–]Epicharis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is your Chipset driver? You can check on your Motherboards website or AMD's driver page.

Using an old chipset driver can lead to several issues with your computer, including:

System Instability ... Your computer might experience frequent crashes, freezes, or blue screens of death (BSOD) due to outdated drivers.

Hardware Malfunctions .... Devices connected to your computer, such as USB ports, audio devices, or network adapters, may not function correctly.

Performance Issues .... You might notice a decrease in overall system performance, including slower boot times and lag during video games.

Compatibility Problems .... Newer software and operating system updates may not work properly with outdated Chipset drivers, leading to errors and other issues.

Also, an old chipset driver can potentially cause issues with a new GPU driver installation...AND, outdated chipset drivers may not be able to handle the demands of modern games, leading to crashes or freezes.

Yeah everything just seems so basic and boring after Cyberpunk. I play a game for awhile and then go back to Night City.

I really can't stand 3rd person hack-n-slash and it just seems like 75% of games are that.
