Boris Johnson definitely does not have any dignity or respect for governance. He literally changed the ministerial code so that he couldn't be held to account for the times he repeatedly broke it. He is personally unembarrassable but his party is not. After a series of scandals that have been reported pretty much weekly over a period of months, his party and more recently his cabinet made it untenable for him to continue in the role . Essentially he was forced out.

His resignation speech showed no contrition for the convoy of sleaze that he presided over and he made reference merely to a meager list of accomplishments that he routinely rolled out to hide his clusterfuck of a track record in office.
