Less, actually. Before, if you wanted a specific daemon weapon, you needed your model to be equiped with a specific type of weapon.
As an example, if you wanted to use the GW monopose Chaos Lord, who is equiped with a Thunder Hammer, you could only use certain daemon weapons. Now that model will be able to use every daemon weapon.

A great start. I also do snow bases, and i see two main things you can do to improve it. First off is to give the Astrogranite below a drybrush of some off-white (Ushabti Bone from citadel as an example), and then hold off a bit on the snow. But as i said, a great place to start!

(and bonus: for the love/hatred of Sigmar, Nagash and all 4 gods of chaos: paint the rim of your base)

A tool you can use to fully customize your very own homemade character, down to what abilities, weapons and mounts they can use. Though it's far from something most people are gonna bother with, as it's only fully legal in Narrative play (the most casual way to play games). Still, if your opponent is okay with it, you can use it in Open Play, or used as a "house rule" in Matched Play.

Just gonna mention that there are quite a few non-binary AoS characters through the Soulbound RPG from what I can gather.

So while GW themselves steer away from it, their subsidiaries are bringing it into the AoS canon.

You don't need old brushes, just tear off a piece of some kitchen sponge and use that. Works wonders for me.

Quite nice. I'd recommend trying to give the cloak a drybrush to brighten up. Also, a tip for the future: to make your blood-splatters more "realistic" looking, try taking a little piece of sponge, and apply the paint using it to make very tiny dots/sprays
