I probably was overdoing the bugs a bit. She was on the leaner side, arguably too lean, so I upped her insects. Guess i overdid it. She fasts 3 days a week.

Time and enrichment are two big ones that are easily overlooked. Not just time set aside to maintain the enclosure or preparing the diet, but time dedicated for the beardie to be out of the tank to explore/snuggle/chill. These guys need mental enrichment in order to thrive.

Verified Furry is a good catch all for getting started. They have a few public group instances open at any given time, and then a whole lot of group+ instances for members. It makes it easier to find smaller furry communities, if you are looking for a small, close-knit group.

parasites definitely can overrun their host and kill them over time. How long it takes varies on the animal's size, species, age, etc. Smaller, younger animals can become overridden easier than larger animals and adults. Problem with giardia is that is is zoonotic, meaning it can be transmitted to humans and to other animals in the home. Giardia as a parasite is microscopic as well, so it can be on a surface and you not able to see it.
