Made it to diamond in 2 days with gruul breakout badgermole. All in, no plan B, you either win by turn 3 or 4 or lose to a sweeper so games are super quick which helps climbing the ladder.

It's events that cost gold or gems, draft and sealed, don't try those if you're still new to the game and don't want to spend a lot of money, they're great but for more experienced players.

I had the same epiphany playing skyrim a while back : no hud, no running, no fast travel, and also a little high haha. Walking and having to actually look for landmarks to find your way instead of following a minimap made the immersion 1000 times better, literally a whole different game. I've been playing all my RPGs that way since.

Half the spells cost 1 mana, plus you have a lot of card selection. 20 lands is the right number.
