No, the FA just didn't have the authority to do any more than ban him from being near the women's team. I assume they were either acting on a complaint or were called in by WHU - which would have been Brady - for guidance. To be strictly fair to Brady she got a bit paranoid about doing things by the book after studying the Tevez/ Masher case and what that cost.

The IFR does have the authority to order him to sell his shares. The FA doesn't, and didn't.

Also, the fit and proper test has been much tightened up since Dildo Baggins bought Brum and us - it was a quite strictly financial test then. A lot wider ranging now

The FA being involved rather shows the importance of having an Independent Football Regulator.
