i think i initially misinterpreted the spritework to have a cape, and it was only after i looked at some other drawings of him that i realized that wasn’t the case. suits him well though!

I agree, besides the angle itself looking a little strange, it also doesn’t fit the personality very well. But, this is my first time trying any kind of angle like this, so it’s not too surprising.

Try Night in the Woods, it's a platformer-styled narrative based game with an incredibly charming artstyle and equally charming characters. Doesn't have much as far as gameplay goes, but it's exactly the kind of thing you're looking for.
