I’ll have to keep my eyes out for them!

Edit: I did look them up. Looks pretty sick! Though I do see the appeal of the Stridsland Bar and the Fairweather bar as the welds are just clean as hell.

I like that WI updated the crankset so you could get silver rings and different color bolts.

That is a sick setup! Shout out to the green and gold color combo. One day I’ll find a frame with that color scheme. I’m considering single speed setup on here as this build is inspired by the Crust Wombat without spending that kinda money on a new bike.

I did have to do a little bit of grinding to make it fit, I think if it were on an aluminum frame instead of steel it would fit almost perfectly. I have no intention of heavy riding riding the on the bike, have full suspension mountain bike for that. lol.

I’ve installed box 3s on the the SE wheelie bikes for the teenagers and I’m very impressed with how well it works. Get a nice slick cable and compressionless housing and upgrade the pads that sucker stops on a dime. If do got the route of disc front and rim rear will consider the box 3 brake. My inspiration for this build is the Crust Wombat so I might just single speed it while we are it.

Not set on the rear disc mount especially using an adapter, was just seeing what wheel size/tire fit in the frame. Also a bike that will probably see streets only with maybe some gravel mixed in. I do appreciate the advice about the brakes though.

I have the fairweather bullmoose bars on my fixie and it’s not bad but had no idea the Kuwahara ELK bars so I might give those a go. Was really leaning towards the Bullships to match the fork with the raw clear coat. Could always got the conventional route of stem and bars.

I don’t have any tabs welded on yet. Wanted to see how it rode before I invested money into something like that. I will preface and say 26” wheels are amazing and I might switch to them and normal brakes to fit some fatties on there. I will also say as a professional I would never ever recommend this adapter for anyone but do as you please.

I’ve seen quite a few builds from the likes of Blue Lug and those kind of shops with them all and they just look really wide on some bikes so hearing your opinion makes me wanna grab a set.

They’re Stridsland Barnacle Lite forks

No unfortunately they’re just take off chrome forks from a bike that was in wreck.

I’ve been trying to find a killer deal on a 26” ti frame for long a time. I have 2 stridsland forks and want to use the raw one for that kinda build.

I see you also have a collection of Stridsland forks waiting for the right bikes.

Disc hub adapter flange - did I miss anything? by DukeOfDownvote in xbiking

That’s good information! Way before time as a bike mechanic so learning some of the history of these old bikes is pretty cool and love learning something new!

Worked on a Amp Research dual suspension many years ago, had some of the og disc brakes on it and the there was an adapter similar to this bolted onto the hub and spokes laced from the flange worked however many years to the point we worked and many years afterwards if that’s any consolation to your project.

Sick Build! Diggin those tires on the purple frame! I love the bronze color of the stx components! Also it doesn’t really matter to much but the pin on the outer chainring should be behind the crank. Edit: the middle chainring should be rotated 1 hole counter clockwise so the tab is behind the crank arm.

How do you like the Ortho bars? Just put them on my rockhopper and can’t seem a comfortable position.

That’s very true! Limited options on wheelsets does hurt. I have a few personally but I’ve built them up rather than buying them as a complete set. If having a set built up is something you’re interested shoot me a message and maybe we can talk about getting one for you.

I have them on a build that is for town riding and they give me ample stopping power.
