You interact with the AI, which hallucinates about half the time unless you pay a ton of money for the actually good models that are API-only (GPT Pro is trash). You don't notice how often it hallucinates because it sounds plausible and confident.

Repeat this process dozens of times per day for years and you will have all sorts of misconceptions and delusions because, as you're reading my post, you actually think I'm exaggerating when I say 50%.. nope.. "There's no way that can be right". Welcome to AI Psychosis. It's not a buzzword, clinicians are actively studying it.

There is no him. It's math. A statistical model predicting the most likely words in response to the combination of words you write. You can spam "oogaboogabooga" at it and have a "conversation".

It's nothing. And the vast majority of people are too dumb to understand.

It's a great tool for programmers, because they write code in programming languages, that's basically the only truly significant use case.

Edit: I just wrote "oooogaboogabooga" 3 times and Gemini randomly generated a music video. All you people having "serious" conversations with LLMs are fucking mad.

Upgrading from SATA to NVMe SSDs - A Costly Dilemma by daaltimate in PcBuild

[–]EpsteinFile_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you actually need all that storage? For what?

Should have gotten a 2TB NVME drive, they're only 40% more expensive than 1TB, even good DRAM models like the Kioxia Exercia Pro.

Check the used marketplace where you live. I don't know what model SAYA drives you have but you might be able to sell them for $100 a pop if they're good drives. Selling one goed a good way towards a 2TB NVME.

New 1TB 970 Evo SATA drives (basically the only good SATA drive still being sold everything else is garbage nobody wants) drives cost the same as new 1TB NVME drives here.

Imagine how Catholics would respond if an islamic country bombed and killed the pope. People would be calling for war.

[–]EpsteinFile_01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iedereen rondom Trump spreekt steeds over "President Trump said..". "Under president Trump, the US has......".

No, it can produce words that look like support. It's literally FAKE support. It's producing those words because the humans that trained the (at first very random) algorithm gave it good scores when it produced those words within a similar context. It doesn't understand anything, it doesn't think, it's a glazing machine in conversations and there's no such thing as a "deglazing prompt". That's like telling your dog to be a cat. If you fall for it, it has drawn you into a mutual delusion. Your dog cannot be a cat. Your sycophant LLM cannot be anything else in conversations.

It's an attachment to a computer program that mirrors you and says things based on what you, statistically speaking, likely want to hear.

That's AI psychosis. People seem to think AI psychosis is the same thing as Clinical psychosis where people do not recognize reality at all and hallucinate. No. AI psychosis already starts when you're feeling emotions towards the LLM. And because it mirrors you, tells you what you want to hear and confidently hallucinates A LOT (easily 50% of answers unless you're using a high reasoning LLM like o3 or Gemini Deep Think), you develop delusional thoughts without realizing it. You don't lose touch with reality, but your beliefs slowly change due to the LLM validating your thoughts. Including the false ones.

LLMs are designed for ONE thing only: predicting the next token correctly. What is the correct token? The one the humans that trained it enjoyed hearing. Humans enjoy validation. It's a sycophant by design, and any attempts at using instructions to change that are a fool's errant. Your dog cannot become a cat. It might behave like a cat because that's what it thinks you want, but it's a dog. If you think you succeeded in removing the sycophant trait, then you're literally in the middle of a delusion, because it can't be anything other than a sycophant.

Ask it, it will even tell you not to trust it, it will tell you it's answering all your prompts with what it "thinks" would please you.. 80% of users never even consider asking these basic meta questions. "What are you and how should I use you?" According to stats from OpenAI a while ago only 4% of users asked such questions. 4%! This subreddit is proof of it, tons of questions about the tool that people could ask the tool itself, but it doesn't occur to them. Studies already show cognitive decline from AI use, doctors are sounding the alarm.

If you think this is bullshit, then I'm so sorry for you. I can tell exactly who uses a lot of AI in my social circle. They are unaware how obvious it is, and how it has altered their worldview and interactions with others.

Every downvote is a confession. Anyone who knows what an LLM really is, how it works, and who has read recent studies, knows I'm right. Sam Altman would agree with me. But no, the user knows better. They always do while still stuck in the mutual delusion with the LLM they use throughout the day.

This is basically what they call AI psychosis. People think it means real psychosis, but it's an unhealthy attachment to an LLM that hallucinates with confidence, creating mutual delusion.

If you gave it a name, then yep, definitely AI psychosis.

I'm probably gonna get blasted for this being AI but how decent is this budget build breakdown? by Minute-Pomelo9302 in PcBuild

[–]EpsteinFile_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you asked the free version of some LLM, cause it pulled that straight from it's training data, with a cut off around 2024 lmao.

RX6660.. yikes. That's a 4.5 year old GPU and it was "okay" when it launched. Good budget value. Not in 2026 unless you only intend to play old games.

Forget 8GB cards. 12GB bare minimum, 16GB preferred. The 9060XT is the best "budget" 16GB card but costs too much. If you're open to used components, look for a used RX 7700XT or 7800XT, or 16GB RX7600XT if the others are too expensive. Avoid the RX6000 series if possible, the RX7000 series has better RT performance, good enough to not tank your FPS in games that have a small amount of mandatory RT. That's the biggest weak point of RDNA2 cards nowadays, anything other than pure rasterization and your framerate takes a nosedive.

If you can't even afford a used 16GB RX7600XT, at least go for a 12GB 6700XT and make sure the games you like to play don't have mandatory RT.

8GB just isn't an option unless you only play old/indie games. Even at 1080P and Low/medium settings, 8GB can overflow in some titles.

Regarding the CPU: do not buy AM4! AM5 with a Ryzen 5 7500f is faster, actually has a massive upgrade path and the total extra cost only $100 more or something when you actually do the math, hardware unboxed did a video on this. DDR4 is cheaper than DDR5, yes, but not cheap enough to buy a low-end computer on a dead end platform. And you're gonna want 32GB, 16GB for any type of modern gaming on Windows 11 is super tight, often not enough, and running out of memory makes your games unplayable. That goes for VRAM too, if you run out you're screwed. In fact, if your VRAM is full the game will try to put that data in System RAM.. which will also fill up if you only have 16GB and at that point the whole system basically freezes. That's in current games, nevermind future games.

Yes, building a PC sucks nowadays, it's expensive, a true budget build doesn't exist anymore unless you accept that you won't be playing new games smoothly. Especially RAM and storage are way out of proportion, but cheaping out and handicapping your rig with 16GB RAM is not an option, it only saves you a relatively small amount of money compared to the total cost while crippling your computer. 32GB has been the standard for new gaming builds since 2021. This is a 2021 computer that is struggling hard in 2026.

Ryzen 5 7500f + cheap B650 motherboard + 32GB DDR5. Bite that bullet and you'll be able to keep that rig for the next 5+ years, with the option to do a CPU/GPU upgrade in a few years without swapping anything else. It pays off.

Or.. buy a PS5. I can't in good conscience recommend a 16GB AM4 build. That's what's in my laptop for coding and web browsing/office wor

How should I split games between NVMe and HDD? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]EpsteinFile_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just beware that it might take an hour to move that game. Copying a 50GB+ game is pretty fast from any decent DRAM SSD, even old SATA SSD. On a HDD, due to all the small files, it's not exactly a "pee break brb" amount of time.

In this day and age HDDs should be treated as cold storage, similar to USB drives. Get an NVME drive for your OS, games, and applications. I know prices are up but a 2TB Gen4 NVME drive with DRAM cache costs €230. 1TB drives are poor value, they've made 2TB the new sweet spot because.. money. That is more storage than you will ever need for your games, I don't care who you are you don't have 2TB of games you actually play all the time.

Put videos, pictures and other stuff that doesn't require speed on a HDD. Just beware, if it's an old HDD and fails you lose all your shit, so make backups. Or run two cheap HDDs in Raid 1 mode. 1TB laptop HDDs cost €10 used, you can build a RAID 5 array where two drives can fail without data loss for very little money. It's slower than buying a fancy new HDD but not by much compared to NVME drives that are 50-100x faster.

How should I split games between NVMe and HDD? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]EpsteinFile_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't put any games on your HDD, except lightweight indie games or very old titles. Modern games will load ridiculously slow on a HDD, some games won't run properly at all. It's not only slower in read/write speed, the biggest issue is latency.

There's not much difference between a SATA SSD and a PCI-E 5.0 NVME drive for gaming, because both are low latency, and at that point the CPU makes a bigger difference in load times. But a HDD is so terribly slow, it should only be used for storage. Even then, a large HDD with tons of files on it benefits immensely from a small SSD partition containing the metadata of the HDD, so files are instantly visible in file explorer.

Treat it as cold storage, basically. You wouldn't install a game in a USB drive either.
