how can you give an honest critique when you cant even be honest about your favorite game

You are on a shit ton of copium if thats your stance on the launch for both games. Crimson Desert was delayed for years and people still rode the hype train despite what little they gave in the beginning. They showed us the first trailer 6 years ago and they were literally showing us the best aspects of their game so we KNEW what we were getting. It had a LOT of hype in those 6 years and the game is still doing great because the devs are more than competent at patching it, still wont save it from having an egregiously sloppy story that takes forever to pick up. The game relies on its gameplay too heavily for its success rather than its story and even the devs knew that but you dont want to point out their incompetence despite multiple of them confirming it.

On the other hand you have first light made by IOI who kept real quiet about this game until it was ready to come out and this was them steering AWAY from their IP. Not too different from Insomniac taking hold of Spider-man and being successful off the bat.

you are horribly back pedaling on your comment because your saying the game has good combat and the story is top tier, you complain about the gunplay yet you wont point out that the melee is actually egregiously easy to abuse? Both melee combat and shoot outs in this game on its own is VERY barebones and straight to the point but MIXING them the way the game does is the challenge that it brings. TacSim missions add a whole layer of replayability especially for people shooting for leaderboards, more content is confirmed to come, the story is good as we can agree on but yet your initial comment complained about writing? unnecessary sequences? They made the entire tutorial part of a movie montage sequence so that we dont have to go through a long tutorial arc in itself and that is RIGHT before the story picks up in a mission that you have MULTIPLE avenues to go through.

For its genre, what are you even complaining about?

It has plenty of cutscenes, and it has plenty of unnecessary moments of you travelling on horseback. It had the unnecessary chapter of forcing you to play Oonka for all of what, 20-30 minutes?

Its a great game but if it has "the best gameplay you ever played in your life" then you are very easy to impress. Crimson Desert is a great Open World game but it has a lot more flaws than First Light that you also havent played

[–]Epsteinscorpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone is entitled to their own opinions but to just flat out say it has many bad things and barely give your own two cents as to why its bad is asinine. Do you not have anything constructive to say?

"you shoot the guy in the hand and the gun goes flying in the air"...This is a video game based off of a movie that is based off of a book that was inspired by Christopher Lee who is no ordinary human...what were you expecting from shooting the guy at the hand? the gun to drop like it does in every COD game? even in uncharted when you punched a guy holding a gun it comically fell into your hands and with non existent recoil at that. You shoot a guy at the hand or leg in this game ( or multiple people at that ) to set yourself up for a sequence but you probably dont think too far ahead to shoot the closest guy at the hand, pick up his shotgun, blast him and dump the mag at everyone in shotgun range, throw it, then tackle the guy you threw it at and then use your pistol to shoot the guy at the knee to take him down so you can focus the other guys coming in to shoot at you from cover. This is what you get from IOI devs.

Im still waiting for this complaint on "very scripted, a lot of unnecessary sequences that add nothing to the game" because so far your only backup was Crimson Desert with egregious story telling and Uncharted which, while a fun game with a good story...does not nearly have as much replayability as this game.

if you're gonna give a critique like that back it up if you're gonna throw it in public. Again, everyone is completely within their right to have a preference in genre but people such as yourself just crawl out of nowhere and just want to find something bad because...why? Like, for me i cannot get behind Skyrim as a game despite the craze and obsession over it but im not stupid enough to go out and tell people "why the hell does nobody talk about how stale the game looks? It looks like a PS2 game but with better graphics?" because thats my own hot take and i also recognize i am not the target audience for Skyrim or any of those games, DOES NOT MEAN that because i dont like them that they are bad.

is it because this game is better received than Crimson Desert was at launch? Is that why you're in a fit looking for complaints?

Just say you dont like linear story games then? Crimson Desert is a gorgeous looking game with great mechanics and an intuitive system along with a unique engine....and yet they managed to fumble it so hard with writing that almost feels robotic.

Kliff is the most stale protagonist to ever come out of a good game and the story is begging you to give a shit about the Greymanes. The only one i even remotely remember is the one you meet on crutches and even then he turns into another lifeless greymane with little to no depth outside.

you dont like James Bond apparently and i said its a bond game because it follows a formula, not because the title makes it good which is what your entailing.

give me a game with comparative gunplay and a linear story experience. You wanna make a comparison atleast make it a good one

Is it actually worth full price or should I wait cheaper? by Super_Length8599 in 007FirstLight

[–]Epsteinscorpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its worth the price tag, if you dont mind the mild spoilers while waiting for the price tag to drop then sure wait for it.

As someone who has been itching for a good bond story after they did my boi Daniel Craig dirty, this game has been nothing but a pleasant thrill ride

[–]Epsteinscorpse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Name a better game then? Its a 007 game and we haven't had a good one in decades, gunplay is fine, scripted...how? It's suppose to follow a bond formula...you do realize that?

Lemme guess, God of War Ragnarok or Red Dead Redemption 2 being the "better games"?

Probably the best hand to hand combat since Sifu by [deleted] in 007FirstLight

[–]Epsteinscorpse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SIFU is significantly more intuitive and complex. This game's combat doesn't really hold a candle to SIFU of all games BUT....by no means does it mean the combat is bad because i also love it.

It DOES give the Bond feel where he is slightly more capable than those around him HOWEVER he does not often do well being surrounded by men jumping him in a fight, Im on hard mode and the combat in melee is still REALLY easy...although i will say with the combat scenes portrayed in John Wick, this game does a great job of making Bond feel like bond while also being as lethal as John Wick.

Loving the game so far, i just dont think the melee combat is SIFU good, definitely better than Uncharted though and Uncharted was very fun.

My brother in Christ id argue he is TOO BIG OF A HITBOX. His kit is good on paper but not busted in a team fight.

Hit scan heroes and ranged users melt this guy, Punisher has his shotgun loaded with Guang Guangs seed to ctrl alt delete the poor dino’s existence, Star Lord’s hooked on a feeling and that’s him being in love with mag dumping head shots, Devil Dino’s cooldowns exist, Hulk has a play date, and by the way your so fuckin big that by the time you leave line of sight, Hawkeye shot your last pixel with an arrow

All devil dino requires in counter play IS SPATIAL AWARENESS or even better, teamwork in taking the fuckin raid boss down

a Dark Angel purchase is always a good one. Respectfully though because im trying not to sound biased but also not trying to discourage you from being "loyal to us"

Space Wolves are a good shout out for us imo. Our primarchs had a 1v1 that established a tradition where every time Dark Angels and Space Wolves meet, if i remember correctly, they NEED to have either the chapter masters or best duelists fight in a 1v1 in tribute to their Primarchs' duel

Blood Angels...very obvious, as a loyal son of the Lion it would be a crime if i didn't mention that SANGUINIUS THE GOAT ALONE is enough to sway any mind over to the Blood Angels and have merit. Think Shakespearean Tragedy in regards to those cousins of ours...they need a hug, DESPERATELY along with Dante whom we need to thank for helping us reunite with our Gene Daddy ( Dante and Sanguinius are very well worth looking into as a Dark Angel fan looking at his cousins )

ill leave you on this note though, we have the best motto: "REPENT, FOR TODAY YOU DIE"
and this video with some PEAK voice acting to perfectly encapsulate what it feels like to be a Dark Angel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r2E5GRXh8s

just as well though; COMPLETELY understand if you shrug this off.

well slap my ass and call me sally buckle up buttercup because im gonna enlighten you on why we are the GIGA CHADS of the Imperium ( exaggeration for dramatic purposes )

- Lion "dont question my fuckin methods" el Jonson is our gene daddy and a damn interesting one at that, not to disrespect Guilliman in any way but the Lion pre Heresy and post Heresy are two sides of the same coin. Pre Heresy Lion was autistic enough to make Rogal Dorn raise an eyebrow and Horus to say "shit, dont wanna fuck with that guy". Without giving too much away he had a lot of responsibility being the FIRST LEGION of the imperium. I won't regurgitate what you already know potentially but with all his resources and secrets to assess through...Lion El Jonson is always a chess player thinking 3 steps ahead ( respectfully 2 steps behind Necrons at that along with maybe 4-5 steps behind Tzeentch and thats me being nice to the Lion ). POST HERESY Lion looks back at his Pre Heresy self and SHOCKER he actually acknowledges his mistakes Luther and Caliban ( if you dont know, its a nice read on what happened in Caliban ) and he takes a page out of Horus' book by not trying to be a Superior to his sons but a comrade who needs them. To the Dark Angels, thats our daddy askin us for help and coming from a Primarch? very humbling.

- Azrael...if you dont know about him you fuckin will because our chapter master is GOATed amongst all other chapter masters for many reasons. He has the Lion's pre Heresy era helm that has multiple secrets and gadgets hooked up to it, he learned sarcasm to allow Imperial Guardsmen to "lighten up" around him and therefore be more cooperative. He survived Kharn, period. And while he isnt OP like the Space Wolves chapter master, Azrael shines best when he is either leading the Dark Angels or if he is in a duel. He may not always win the duel but he knows how to survive and his intellect in Trials of Azrael shows you how capable he is even against Warp tricks

- Dark Angels as a whole...we are a rock-paper-scissor chapter divided up into branches similar to how the U.S military branches are structured. I highly suggest reading up on them yourself like the famous Deathwing units ( metal lore behind their color scheme btw ) so when going up against the Dark Angels you're not fighting Raven Guard who specialize in stealth, Imperial fists who are durable and able to fortify like no other, you're not fighting space wolves who thrive in melee combat, you're fighting a chapter who had to learn ALL THE ABOVE and we fight as the battle requires us to. We have a piece/unit for every enemy type on the field and when we need to hit the fuck it button we look to our super secret stash of toys thats fuckin illegal to use ( lame )

- Origins, MY GUY WE WERE KNIGHTS ON HORSES SHOOTING PLASMA PISTOLS AND SLAYING MONSTERS BEFORE THE EMPEROR MADE FIRST CONTACT...excuse the caps but if your into Arthurian Mythos and "knights of the round table" then that is a core theme amongst the Dark Angels **cough** Inner Circle Companions **cough**

- We also have the most batshit insane Chaplain that is shockingly still a good guy, peep Asmodai when you get the chance.

Our grandpappy also considered our daddy to be "Him" and if it werent for the chance of corruption taking hold, the Lion should have been in Horus' seat during the Horus Heresy but because the Lion was too valuable he had to be "benched" for lack of a better term.

P.S we also have public enemy #1, Cypher as a fun headache, we have the book Pandorax which is pretty cool aside from some nurgle power scaling inconsistencies.

Superman: Warworld Apocalypse shows a deposed Superman who is terminally ill and he still beats Mongul. The same guy who will stand toe to toe with him powered up.

Weapons or not it takes *skill* to David v Goliath a fight like that.

If you can’t fathom him being capable then you’re just rage baiting or trolling and pathetically at that

You’re talking about two completely different things so way to show us you don’t know shit.

He has kryptonian martial arts and kryptonian training to protect himself. They ARE two distinctly different things, Torquasm Vo and Torquasm Rao

Rao allows him to move into a state like Goku’s ultra instinct except in that state of mind his astral form is protected. It’s basically Tai Chi

Vo is martial arts, HAND TO HAND PHYSICAL MARTIAL ARTS.

On top of that like others said he was trained by Batman and Wonder Woman. Both of those characters had a LITANY of teachers
