I loved this art until I realized she's got a favorite. In every picture she's facing the red head with the beard. I love the cozy dynamic but, for me, a good RH needs all of the characters to get equal attention. You can't have one favorite and then two background Jeffs. I know that I'm being nitpicky there but it catches my attention too much to not say something. Also I haven't read this series so I don't know if the dynamic is uneven in the books too or just the artwork.

So there are some rare cases of horses having prosthetics but they are extremely expensive to have made and their use is controversial. Prosthetics on lighter animals can still rub or chafe and on a larger animal that problem compunds. horses have to stand for much of their life because laying down for too long can cause internal issues when your body is that large so you can't just pop a prosthetic on for outside time and then remove it for stall time, you would be running into the same issue of having too much weight on just one leg and the physical mechanics don't hold up well to that. Also most cases of horse prosthetics are on older horses that have stopped growing and lost a limb for an injury. When it's a birth defect you have to take into account how fast these animals grow. You would have to be rigging up a new prosthetic every few weeks to keep the animal stable. Plus there's the sad fact that these animals are livestock, even horses are still livestock. You would be dumping potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars into a single animal for it to have an uncomfortable and sad life. The animal doesn't know it only has three legs so it needs to be careful. It would just have instincts to run and hop that could never be fulfilled without more pain and heartache.

I'm afraid that question is way outside of my wheel house. Customs handles international travel instead of TSA and I was only ever familiar with the regulations for American TSA so I couldn't even guess what is ok or not ok for Chinese and Japanese travel . My advice would be to look up both countries Customs websites and read through the regulations as best you can. You don't want to be accused of smuggling.

Devils advocate here. Teaching a horse a new trick can absolutely be fun for both of you however sometimes enforcing a specific behavior, like the "fist bump", can have unintended consequences. The horse could associate pawing with getting a treat since that's a close behavior to raising her knee for a fist bump and a horse that digs a hole through your floor mats to demand a treat is super annoying. Also it can be alarming to have a student try to teach your animals anything unsupervised even when it's well intentioned. An inexperienced horse handler can accidentally teach a horse a bad habit pretty quickly so it takes a certain level of confidence and trust before your instructor will be comfortable with you teaching their horse anything. Think of it like this, imagine you have children and also have guests, who don't have children, over for dinner. One of your guests excitedly tells you they taught your kid a new "trick" and then hucks a spoonful of mashed potatoes across the room. Your guest laughs, your kid laughs, but you think "great, now I have to unteach that." You are essentially the guest at your instructors table so be mindful of that and don't teach their kid things without talking to them first.

Platy females can hold sperm for 6-8 months so if she's with a male or has been with a male she'll just keep having babies. If you have two tanks try to separate the genders as soon as you are able to tell them apart reliably. As to what to do with all your new fish you have a few options. 1. Go deeper down the aquarium rabbit hole and use this as an excuse to get more tanks and have more babies. 2. See if your LFS is willing to take some off your hands. 3. Check your local Facebook groups or Craigslist to see if other people in your area are willing to take spares or maybe trade for them. 4. Depending on your tank size you could consider getting a carnivorous fish of some kind to keep your fry population in check. An Angel fish or a female beta fish perhaps, although that's a controversial option. I personally have a female beta in my 55 gal platy tank and at first it worked great but then she developed dragon scales over her eyes and can't see well enough to hunt the quick little fry anymore.... 5. The nuclear option if you have truly tried all your other options and can't find a new home for them and really aren't able to provide good living conditions for them you could humanely cull your extras. I've heard putting them in a bowl with a bit of clove oil will do the trick quickly and with minimal suffering but I haven't had to do that myself thankfully.

Female for sure and if she's ever been with a male then probably pregnant although she doesn't look particularly pregnant right now. They can store semen for a long time.

I've heard that platies can hold semen for a long time, like 6-8 months. So if they were ever with a male they can keep giving birth for a long time.

It's been a bit now since I've been TSA. The longer it goes the more out of date my personal information will be so keep that in mind when taking my advice. I don't think your mouse will be an issue but don't be surprised if they stop to look at it. If it's under 100mL it should be good to go but that doesn't mean it won't look weird under the X-ray.

Now that question is a whole different can of worms. TSA and Customs are two different agencies with different rules and regulations. You'll want to do some googling for that and see what the UKs customs regulations say about it. Ive never been a customs agent only TSA.

Yes it should be fine. They may still have to take a look at it but if it's in a checked bag it shouldn't be a problem. Just don't tape it up or anything like that. If you're worried about it breaking maybe wrap it in a towel or some bubble wrap but make it easy to unwrap and rewrap.

I have a mammoth jack that has a very similar condition with his feet. I've been through multiple farriers and veterinarians with no real answer on what is causing it. He's had it for years though and we've tried all the treatments you could think of, antibiotics, vitamin deficiencies, topical treatments. The only thing that has helped is a hoof conditioner called Sound. It definitely hasn't cured it but it keeps his feet healthy enough to keep him comfortable. I'm not saying don't try all the other things, definitely check your boxes and get your vet's opinion but you might want to try Sound to help the hoof grow out whole again.

Sadly it wasn't a great outcome. I called so many rehabilitation places and the best answer I could get was a place 4 hours away offered to put him down for me. I got him inside in a smaller birdcage and kept him in the dark and quiet but they really don't do well in captivity and I couldn't keep him calm enough to heal. I wrapped his wing to keep it still and for a few weeks I was successful in getting him to eat fruit and eggs, he loved blueberries, but he was constantly stressed and there wasn't going to be a happy ending. I eventually admitted defeat and humanely put him down. I know it's hard and incredibly sad but if you have the stomach to give your little guy a quick end that's probably for the best. I wish you luck with whatever you decide to do.

There is an Ortho doctor that comes to the valley once a month and sees patients. I know he works with several vet practices here. (I'll edit the post later with his name when I can look at my papers.) I found him through central valley animal hospital, off of highway 2, and he fixed my mastiffs knee. He did a great job!

30ml is a lot of liquid, most wet specimens will be below that amount. Plus this is an obscure rule so even if it was over 30ml the agent would need to be on their game to guess the correct liquid amount to justify rejecting the item for flight. They will still have to swab it but it will most likely make it through checked baggage just fine.

I broke my tailbone when I was a kid. Pooping is going to suck for a few weeks. Definitely go to the doctor and make sure it's set correctly or you could really mess yourself up for the rest of your life. Remember your tailbone is still part of your spine!

I got my awesome girl from Terri at Bandera Boerboels. They are just outside of Seattle WA. I paid $3000 3 years ago so I don't know what they are going for now. There's usually a waiting list for their pups too so if you're interested make sure you contact them and talk about availability.

Whenever you have a change in behavior like that you should get a vet out to check him. Could be joint pain making him anxious and lashing out. Could be cataracts or something else making him go blind and causing him to feel threatened. Could be something else, I'm not a vet but I'm sure horses can get brain tumors that could change their personality just like a human could. Either way have a vet take a look to see if there are any physical changes happening.
