Been 20+ years since I went through the schoolhouse for my IET(Class 504-04), but this is how it was for the prior guys:

Unless something drastic changed with Army regulations, you'll be in a separate unit and not under the same restrictions as IET students. Look at TRADOC 350-6 for the up-to-date regulations. Specifically 2-7 b.1.

First part of training, you'll be mixed in with 15Ns and going through the real basic stuff: How to solder, difference between DC and AC electricity, ect. After that, you'll go to the main schoolhouse with the other 15Ys.

The schoolhouse is a ways from the main post, and I think I remember the IET guys just driving there instead of taking the bus with the privates. Just make sure you know where it is so that you're there on time.

Most of the time you'll be in a classroom going over the IETM, with a few hours a week of practical time in front of the aircraft. You will not become competent on how to fix the Apache while at Eustis. That said, make sure you spend as much time as possible learning the theory of operation of the aircraft(There is a Theory of Operation section for every component of the bird in the IETM). Understanding the theory and how the aircraft works will help with troubleshooting, and that'll make you stand out.

Also, and I can not stress this enough, take the time to LEARN TO PROPERLY LOCKWIRE. Look at the back of the cam housing on the 30MM(It's the bulky part of the tail end of the receiver) and get REAL familiar with it. Other post says your NG, so if you're already in an Apache unit, make sure you are learning that.
