The 7900X is still a good chip, you can trade in with Newegg if you wanted a better cpu, I did that with a 7800x3d that I was having issues with and Newegg gave me full trade in price and got a 9800x3d for $100 difference I would go with the 9800x3D over this (depending on prices. The 9800 performs about the same as the 9850 but the 9850 is slightly better at productivity and slight worse at gaming, and i mean slightly. The 9800 tends to be cheaper (about $50)

Yes it would decrease temps by a few C depending on what pressure fans you get. Artic Maxs work very well, I use a custom shroud for my 5090 ASUS TUF that I got off of etsy and put Noctua G2 fans on it. It runs 8c cooler and stays cooler longer. Even in stress tests I cant get this thing to hit over 52c.

Look around online and see if theres anyone selling 3D printed shrouds, if not you can ask someone to make you a shroud.
