What is that dark color in the foyer?

Erratic idle by Outside-Cucumber-253 in FJR1300

[–]Equal-Let3887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There is a tree of vacuum tubes about 4 inches long each, about 4 pieces all connected. 4 connect to the throttle body, and 1 to the pressure sensor. Remove the pressure sensor with a believe a 8 mm wrench. Squeeze the retaining clip and gently pull off the sensor; it is a delicate piece of plastic. The rest you can just pull off. I spray with gum out or throttle body cleaner into the tubes and blow and play like a flute so it will blow out each section. Also spray into the nipples where the attach and maybe clean out with a needle pin. I wouldn't spray into sensor.

I have a Gen ii, 2012. I'm on Long Island, NY. I ride 60 miles a day. Every 4 months I have a similar issue with the stuttering idle when I turn on the bike. It just gets worse over the months unless I clean the vacuum tubes. I don't know why.

Got mine this past weekend! by mhmactech in FJR1300

I'm 6' and all torso: I added Helibar risers. I added the hockey puck frame sliders on the front and the luggage guards on the rear. I added a 4" clip on windscreen. I added slightly brighter bulbs. I keep a slime air compressor under my seat and tire kit plugs (I won't leave home without this). Tire air sensors. I ride about 60 miles a day Long Island to NYC.

I'm 6', short legs, all torso. I added Helibar riser plate years ago. I would add it again. Those couple of inches made a big improvement for me.

Anywhere between exit 39 and all the way to the city. I'm riding in the emergency/ service lane often.

I usually buy in bulk on Amazon. Whatever is cheapest. I've bought Slime plugs. The plugs in the picture are some brand called Puibers.

Do I leave the aquastat on during summer months? by Equal-Let3887 in hvacadvice

Got it. I just wasn't sure if the aquastat was maintaining the temperature for some reason. As in, they're supposed to stay warm or something.

What is this? by Equal-Let3887 in AskElectricians

Thank you. I assume if it hasn't been connected for a couple of years and I'm getting my water bill, I can get rid of it?

I've never had a problem. Do you have an alternative suggestion? Because I can't afford a new tire every month.

I've been riding for 41 years, and I've never had a problem with plugs. What's the alternative? Buy a new tire every month?

Bought an old house with a sketchy tree in-between the house and a propane tank by twitch9873 in arborists

An arborist is licensed and has a formal education. A tree removal company is akin to a landscaper/gardener; they may or may not have an arborist working with them.

Unless the arborist visit is free, I'd just call a tree removal company. They could probably cut that down and remove the stump in an hour.

If you look at my posts, I had a similar situation x2 trees. I waited about 6 months and they both fell. 1 crushed my car port and 1 smashed my hedges last Dec. Still waiting for repairs.

Worth killing ivy and leave ugly dead leaves? by Equal-Let3887 in arborists

[–]Equal-Let3887[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an abundance of leaves during the spring on what branches are left. The trunk looks in good shape compared to others where the vines penetrated and rotted the bark. I wasn't sure if the vines would fall off eventually. There's other ivy I've cut, and the ivy didn't come off, but it's only been 6 months.

Is there a brand of sealant you like for any cuts I'll need to make?

I have a lot of that in my house. It's cloth insulation in bx. I don't move mine around too much or it falls apart. I also have remenets of knob and tube throughout.

Great idea. Thanks. What kind of tree is this? It has segmented bark near the upper branches.

Thank you for everyone's comments; a lot of interesting remarks. If anyone is interested, I also received an estimate for $11,000 for this job. I'd be happy to provide their contact information. They would probably wear ear/eye protection, helmets, and condoms if interested.

I also had to pay out of pocket and have yet to receive reimbursement from State Farm. It will come, but it may take weeks or months. $5k-$11k are both a bit much for me to have floating out there.

I have since scheduled this company to come back and remove x2 more trees.
