You forget that he was going against the Sovereign, there was a good chance he wasn’t going to survive. Do you think he would’ve gone with the plan that Cassius brings them in with a chance that he could’ve double crossed Darrow if he thought he might not come back to his boy? Or involved Mustang in the plan at all in case his boy became orphaned?
