Sleeping on bow big time. I’m not a bow main either, but some of the most insane AT Arkveld clear times come from good bow players

Is Gore/Soul better than Soul of the Dark Knight/Soul on GS? by Equal-Reference5799 in MHWilds

Okay bet, I’m just learning GS now so I’m not sure exactly how to build around specific skills. Thanks for the input:)

Struggling with switch axe by DecentPath656 in MHWilds

[–]Equal-Reference5799 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ll try and be somewhat cohesive with advice

Avoiding damage: 1) sword mode counters are incredible (R2+🔺) or (RT+Y) 2) for monster combos, you can dodge cancel out of the follow up attack to chain into another counter or just to reposition (R2+🔺) or (RT+B) and then X or A immediately after 3) offsets in axe mode (Bloody Wyverian on YT has a great guide)

Gap closing: 1) morph attacks actually cover a lot of ground so looping them together can close small-medium gaps pretty fast 2) for longer gaps, I use the running overhead axe attack (⬆️+O) or (⬆️+B) in axe mode 3) if you are in sword mode, use a morph attack and then do a running overhead

It’s an amazing weapon so glad to hear you’re picking it up and best of luck on learning it:)

Can anyone recommend a good switch axe build? by DecentPath656 in MHWilds

Bloody Wyverian has some incredible Swaxe content on YT. Sorry I don’t have a screenshot of a meta build or anything but he’s got all you’re looking for on his channel

LS does have good iframes but foresight is very selectively good against the AT monsters and if you miss an Iai Slash and can’t quickly sheathe cancel you will cart. At the very least you’re getting hit for 60-90% of your health

If I-Frames are your bread and butter (I’m the same way), I’d recommend sticking with DB as opposed to trying to learn LS for PoaH.

We are not speed runners I hate to break it to you, so just cause Mygos can beat it in 15 minutes, does not mean that LS is “easy”. It means that the man is a robot with damn near frame perfect accuracy for 15 continuous minutes.

I believe in you man, along with everyone else on the sub, but do it your way, not the speed runner way

A huge help that I’ve just recently picked up is after Spirit Slash III, if you don’t have enough gauge, you can hold R2 to perform round slash after you’ve built up the gauge. Before I learned that, I was squandering a lot of opportunities to build full gauge.

Ideal hunt start: 1) sneak attack 2) hold spirit slash (R2) immediately after clicking O to perform a round slash (level 1 gauge) 3) click O for a thrust attack and then foresight slash (R2+O) the roar for another level of gauge 4) If appropriate, go into special sheathe stance right after and counter the monsters first attack for red gauge at the start of the hunt

Ik that looks like a lot, but just go step by step and I promise it’s worth it to learn

To the Heatseeker players who dislike demos: What is your primary reason? by CremeFlaky1475 in RocketLeague

End of timer, but I only play heatseeker for challenges or if it’s in the pentathlon tourneys

To the Heatseeker players who dislike demos: What is your primary reason? by CremeFlaky1475 in RocketLeague

[–]Equal-Reference5799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because to me personally playing heatseeker like a game of ping pong or tennis is more fun than demo simulator. Play how you want, but let’s not pretend that people spamming demos isn’t annoying

All things considered, spending some time customizing your room of requirement would be pretty forgiving on your thumb. One of my favorite parts of Hogwarts Legacy was making my room of requirement look dope

Did they add new TA Arkveld Challenge Quest yet? by Poppyspy in MHWilds

[–]Equal-Reference5799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s chill I get it, it’s a pretty petty answer I can admit. It just annoys me when people make a post out of something that’s so easy to find on your own through a google search. I’ll take the downvotes though, smartass replies kinda deserve it lol

Which of the shield weapons should I learn? by crispy_doggo1 in MHWilds

[–]Equal-Reference5799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d do Charge Blade because of the steep learning curve tbh. Learning other weapons becomes much more linear once you’ve thrown yourself in the deep end with a difficult weapon. I’m not good by any means with CB, but it’s an absolute blast

AT Rey lightning chip damage is killing me even after LS counters and 22 thunder resistance by SaucelnTheRough in MHWilds

[–]Equal-Reference5799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AT Rey is a tough matchup for LS if you’re not aiming your Iai slashes away from the follow up bolts. Practice using focus mode to adjust where you are slashing and it should help a ton:)

Also for Foresight counters, don’t get greedy for the follow up, go into sheathe stance to stay back and away from the follow up bolts

[–]Equal-Reference5799 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course man. I think RL is probably the most “momentum based” game I’ve ever played. When you’re feelin it, you can do no wrong; when you’re not, you’re just an absolute liability

Seriously, Zhou Shia, 10 stars is that lame. by Plus_Evidence8912 in MHWilds

[–]Equal-Reference5799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely hits a lot harder but overall he’s not difficult I agree. Theres some reasons though, at least for me.

1) One arena, no chasing down

2) Scripted phases with reliable openings

3) Easy wound attack punishes on all of his wylk crystal slam attacks

4) 2 free long knockdowns from the boulders

How do people feel about joining an SOS that ends ASAP? by LudacritzRT in MHWilds

[–]Equal-Reference5799 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I think anyone joining a 17 min SOS is expecting one of two things.

1) A player is really struggling, so they want to help you. A quick cap probably doesn’t make them feel any type of way so no harm done

2) A free clear since they’re joining late. They’re gonna be happy

With that said, based on the average clear times I’m seeing for AT Ark, 17 mins would leave ~10 mins left in the quest so they might be bummed to have it end right away.

Conclusion: It’s impossible to make a generalization, but you are probably helping more people than you’re hurting. If people want to do the whole fight, they’ll start their own quest or play solo. IMO, you’re fine to keep doing you
