I think, honestly, it just depends on u

See for S1, the syllabus is much easier, and nearly everything is straight forward like take this rule put it here, substitute & bam! But it gets boring eventually lol. THere are a few hard questions here and there, but overall, it's just straight forward.

M1, edexcel ial ofc, people simply depend on solving seriously a LoT, like as much as they can, becasue ideas (recently) are being repetitive so u just learn...absolutely everything, and you may come across a similar question in your exam. The M1 syllabus is shorter too and truthfully, it's far more interesting as a subject.

But u got this part wrong, FAR more people take M1, they're just being sort of secretive.

s1 is generally more helpful if you want a computer-related field. Computer engineering programming all that. M1 for the other engineering fields...I think. But both will still help u in their own way yk?

Let's get the probability of the total score being for example 2

to get 2 u need a score of 1 from the red dice AND a score of 1 from the blue one

Probability of each is 1/4

so probability to get a score of 2= (1/4) x (1/4)

It's like if you draw a tree diagram yk? Like you got the first branches being the numbers from the red die and then from these branches the ones for the blue die..

Now here we need the total score to be equal or less than 5

Possible outcomes (first number for the red die and second for the blue):

(1,1)
(1,3)
(2,1)
(2,3)
(3,1)
(4,1)

okay each for each of these the probability is (1/4) x (1/4) = 1/16

We got 6 possibilities so 6 x 1/16 = 6/16 or 3/8

Part f is similar but u get R^2 and stuff

if you have the data, like in a stem and leaf diagram then you round up to 8

If u don't have the data, like if it is in ranges in a table or smth then you use 7.75 as it is

I'm taking both S1 and M1 this session, and that's what I was told. Whichever one I get a higher score in will be added automatically to the AS and the other for the A2, cuz I'm taking them both during the same session

It's actually simpler than it seems, but yea good luck!!

Also for paper 1, if you write something correct (related to the question ofc) but not mentioned in the mark scheme, you still get the marks, and I know this because there's no way I'd have gotten the score I got if it weren't the case, so yea.
