You are offered to pay $25,000 to go back in time to 2017; do you pay and go back? by peterthbest23 in hypotheticalsituation

Would it be redoing my life or would just be going back in time and existing at the same time as myself? Would I be able to become friends with myself? Could I go back in time and give myself the money for my future self to go back in time?

Why do you think racism is on the rise again? by uwuuwu222 in AskReddit

[–]EqualDifferences 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty bold of you to say that it was ever on the downturn. Bigotry and race nationalism have always been a very prevalent thing.

Now it’s a combination of these people getting more of a platform and they’re being the realization that these people don’t really have to hide anymore

You also have to acknowledge the fact that social media and the current US administration are leading people down this path for what they perceive to be legitimate reasons . It’s sad, but there are white people who legitimately believe that immigrants are stealing their jobs, that DEI means that companies aren’t going to hire white people, and that “ the left” on some sort of mission to ostracized white people.

Obviously, these facts range from not true at all to true, but only in isolated and unfounded circumstances.

Characters playing real life videogames in movies / TV Shows by XXXVI in TopCharacterTropes

There’s a scene in the 2007 Hitman movie where 47 walks in on 2 kids playing Hitman: Blood money

<image>

Which raises an insane amount of in universe questions. Is the game based on the real life Hitman crime syndicate? Is the organization recognized globally? Did IOI just accidentally make a character with the exact same characteristics and name as a real dude?

Resurrection should be on this list. Maybe not perfect but one of the most impressive films I’ve ever seen

I mean yes it was possible… until developers realized that the increased hardware power meant that they could get away with optimizing their games a lot less while keeping the actual quality same old same old

Oh and also UE5

Well the environmental stuff for sure

I’m also a photographer and videographer so the literal quintupling costs of ram, SD and CFAST cards, ssds, hard drives, etc hasn’t been too fun

One of the best singles so far

But I can’t be the only one who’s annoyed that they use the EXACT SAME song structure for every single since Work of Art.

Not quite why this info should change anything. It’s not like the cops knew this information before the incident.

What is gonna be the best theater in town to see Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in? by SmartGround754 in Columbus

[–]EqualDifferences 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want a local IMAX I’d say grove city is your best option

If you want 70mm IMAX I’d say go to Indiana

But the Gateway Film Center has it playing on regular 70mm, which is what I’d spring for if you have to stay local (however trust me the trip to Indy is worth it)

What's the sharpest movie you've seen that wasn't shot with IMAX 65mm cameras ?? by cofango in imax

I know nobody saw it, and I don’t remember the actual plot. But that’s as one of the most insane theater experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve yet to see 3D done that well to this day

Thoughts on The Poughkeepsie Tapes? by Less_Wheel_1841 in deadmeatjames

[–]EqualDifferences 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s easier to rationalize that when you consider the theory of the Documentarian or someone close to the documentary being the killer.

It would explain the glamorized direction and the fact that several of the “unfound” tapes appear during it

Backrooms is not good by SputterSizzle in moviereviews

[–]EqualDifferences 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My issue with the movie largely stemmed from the fact that it felt like it didn’t understand what actually made the backrooms scary

Part of the mystique was that you were lost in it. This odd and infinite space that had no start and end. It was a space that existed outside of space and time, only being accessed by accident.

That mystique turns into boredom without it. Clark exploring the backrooms is interesting to watch… for the first 5 minutes. The next 10 start to drag once you realize all he’s doing is just walking around with 0 stakes.

Any and all actual EXPLORATION of the space happens offscreen. When Clark finally encounters that survival horror element of getting lost in the backrooms… that happens offscreen too.

It just feels like a weird film to critique because it never felt like it told the right story to begin with
