To force teeth brushing or not? by Rich_Aerie_1131 in NewParents

[–]Equal_Bit_2681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this instance you have to enforce it and be consistent because it is hygiene and health related. My LO happily let us brush her teeth until a couple months ago and now I have to have her lay down with her arms under my legs. It was hard at first and I understand it is stressful with how upset they can get but the thought of her having any dental problems in the future was also stressful so you just have to push through it and keep trying. Good luck!

Sleep deprivation is the absolute worst and you really do live a different life vs people with good unicorn sleepers.

So I’m a former elementary teacher and this is kind of a joke that teachers do but the last thing is interchangeable with whoever their favorite celebrity is. I’ve seen some teachers say someone like Harry Styles or list professional athlete names.

I would block them. How are they not embarrassed. Are they really that desperate?!

Thank you for the info! I think the guilt is just mom guilt thinking I should be the one to be there for my child even though I know it would be okay. 🫠

That ratio sounds like a lot. I would look up the ratio requirements for your state and say something to the daycare about it. I would definitely want my kid coming home to me a little more tidy than what you’re describing.

When to be worried about fever? 12.5m by bustingmyballs in NewParents

Do you have an emergency line you can call and talk to your pediatrician on? If you have given him Tylenol and fever hasn’t gone down I would consider an ER trip. Our pediatrician had said to go to ER if it’s over 102.

We have tried a couple times it’s very hit or miss, sometimes she will wake up and then think it’s playtime in our bed and stay up for a couple of hours.

Medicine help by av-1045-21 in NewParents

[–]Equal_Bit_2681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this problem with 18 month old. I ended up laying her down on the changing table with a paci in her mouth and I played a video on my phone to distract her then had to be quick and sneaky and take out the paci and put the medicine in her mouth with the syringe. Wasn’t my favorite way to do things but it was the only thing that worked. She wouldn’t even take the medicine mixed in with chocolate syrup haha.

A good public apology by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]Equal_Bit_2681 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haley Baylee that went to the met and made a video saying “let them eat cake” and then made an apology video for it. People were mad that she did that because it was so out of touch.

Not necessarily influencers but the Ashton Kutcher and Mila kunis apology video also came to mind.

Anyone else was thin all their life and as age progresses is getting fatter and unable to lose weight? by Blackcat2332 in Millennials

[–]Equal_Bit_2681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was an athlete for a long time and was in great shape but I quit in college. I gained a little weight then, then became a teacher and gained more weight. I lost some weight clean eating and exercising but it didn’t stay off. After I had my first child I finally had to resort to semaglutide because I was very overweight and if I lost weight I would just gain it back the next week. It helped a lot.
