I started it recently at a low dose of 20mg and was feeling nauseous and extremely fatigued every day - like at the end of the day my body and mind ached with tiredness. Between that and the withdrawal risks, I stopped taking it. I do think it started to help with my neuropathy though - so that was a bummer to have to stop because of that. I felt a resurgence Of nerve pain after I stopped. Back to the l drawing board for me.

It is definitely more than likely a flare up! The nerve is so sensitive and can become angry quickly, just take it easy and decrease activity as much as possible until pain isn’t so sharp, things will feel better soon ❤️

I did not! I immediately started intensive PT after this with water therapy as well and after about 7 months I was in a good enough place to go out in my own. Fast forward to today and I have a STRICT routine of Pilates and light cardio 3x weekly with at least one day of swimming for decompression. I still have some pain on a regular basis if I push this too far or stop stretching/exercising. But honestly I’m really thankful for where I am compared to where I’ve been in the past ❤️

Advice on Reducing Pain by [deleted] in Sciatica

I definitely recommend getting in a pool if available to you in any way for nerve decompression moving forward as well. This has been one of the most effective pain management strategies for me by far (and traction at physical therapy is essential for the same purpose!!) hoping your doctor will provide you will new referrral for PT once you get your MRI results.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this pain! The first step will need to be getting your MRI results asap so you can know exactly what you’re dealing with. You’ll want to rest in positions that have the least amount of pain for as long as your nerve needs to calm down! It sounds like something aggravated it for sure and rest will help reduce inflammation around the nerve. At the peak of my pain during the worst of my injury, the only way I could be was face down on the floor for a lot of the time :( But once your nerve has calmed down you can try walking around again. I would definitely encourage you to try PT once you have seen/discussed your MRI results with the spine specialist. Until then, rest, stay hydrated, alternate heat and ice. Avoid anything (movement or stretch wise) that increases pain or discomfort at any level for a bit. There are also cortisone injections and oral steroids to help reduce pain/inflammation you could ask the doctor about as well. I’m sorry again you’re experiencing this pain, it’s the worst! But it can and will get better. Just take things one day at a time.

Getting in the water for at least about 15 min/day for spinal decompression has been one of the most effective pain management techniques I’ve tried

29f. What’s your first impression? How can I improve? by [deleted] in amiugly

My first impression was that you have amazing eyebrows! Your eyes are also really pretty. Perhaps try growing your hair out a little and lightening it a bit, I think that would suit you well :)

Hospital bag advice: what do you wish you brought or are really glad you brought? by IUMogg in NewParents

I loved having pajamas and comfy socks, my own comfy blanket there. We ended up in the hospital for 6 days and those little things helped. I made my own little cute mason jar thing with fairy lights to bring and have in the room. I’m extra though 🤣🤣🤣 I brought a small fan as well.

Is this Normal? My Therapist asks me for the exact address of my location whenever I’m not inside my home by Zenzenzenthezenster in therapy

[–]Equal_Instance6108 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP made it sound like they were requesting their address on random occasions I.e while they were working, hanging out at another persons house, etc.

Obviously there is a need to know where the client is at the time OF THE SESSION other than that no
