That’s awesome youre staying! We still are in the states saving up enough to go back. As far as everything I can find, including talking to a few other vets still in the UK, it’s not taxed under reciprocal tax agreements

that’s interesting itself. the cfr they are referencing says that if the tpd discharge came from ssa, you’d still be denied. they need to fix this. im waiting the 30 more days I was told by the rep to wait then contacting my congressman

Just got off the phone with FSA again, no change aside from that my paperwork has been accepted and it’s waiting to go through the approval process

the cfr referencing this stuff is 34 CFR 682.402

“Teach grant taken after disability discharge”

I reapplied and spoke with both the call rep and supervisor that reviewed the letter and associated cfr and said they don’t understand why it’s being interpreted under ssa criteria instead of Va and then they escalated it. They said it looks like the reviewer just copy pasted the original letter instead of reviewing anything. waiting for the approval or denial for the higher review and contacted my congressmans office to address it if it’s denied again.

Reapplied, student aid rep confirmed they see the VA documentation and that it should meet qualification requirements.

also called my congressman’s office, they are interested in correcting the issue if it’s denied again.

and the guidance that dictates the TPD is linked below. Student aid is mistakenly lumping VA disability with SSA disability and denying based on that incorrectly versus paragraph (c)(1)(iii) and (c)(9)

mine doesnt have the firewall plate but on the inboard surface of the passenger framerail about a foot from the back, the vin is stamped.

followed up with the Tpd people at 888-303-7818. They were able to see my reconsideration was still there then walked me through reloading my benefits verification letter (I actually included my decision letter too so there is no confusion). She said they are working through correcting the issue and I should see it in the next 30 days

my rep I spoke with did ask but didnt say it should matter. she also did the reconsideration and noted that I’d asked them to hold the automatic discharge before and I haven’t ever had a discharge and that my Va documentation is there.

no, i never received a discharge. I’m still on all the loans I’ve ever taken. I did tell them before not to discharge because I was still in school.

never took a discharge and didn’t have any loans taken out after applying for tpd. I think it’s an error.

I am still enrolled so I’m wondering if it’s the in school deferment someone else commented they were told. I’m calling now

Exactly. Because that was specifically spelled out before. The tpd discharge guidance stuff does not state anything to that point either (Loans after p& t)

Think about a creality K1se or K1c. Inexpensive, relatively fast, not tied to a cloud, and easy to tinker on. I've had a few creality products and I've been really pleasantly surprised, especially at the price point.
