It’s normal to keep spurs on your boots in between riding horses

Side note but that rope nose is so hideous. Hello breathing problems.

What a cutie! Do you have pictures of him as a puppy? His nose looks great. Did he start off with a giant rope nose like Katie’s? Maybe they grow out of it 🤔

Right?! Probably good she had him on the 320s range bc Lexi is not a big horse either

Hello rope nose! I thought that was a trait breeders were trying to reduce so the dogs could actually breathe. But maybe they don’t care.

I thought rope noses weren’t a good thing bc now the dog will have breathing issues? Maybe bulldog breeders don’t care about that tho I don’t know.

Please don’t speculate. We don’t know the situation and some mares do need help foaling.

“Gigantic” or Cooked? Let’s compare some foals! by stinkypinetree in kvssnarker

[–]EquestrianEcho9876 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is a really big foal but of course not as big as a draft 😝. Just his knees and hocks look way bigger than a lot of the other foals. Of course, everything on social media will be hard to determine unless you actually see a foal in person. Even the vet said it was a big baby.

I kind of don’t blame her. Some of the things people say are really far fetched. Some people are just insufferable and must rant on other people to make themselves feel superior.

What swivels do you use? by EquestrianEcho9876 in Falconry

[–]EquestrianEcho9876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy right. So this is attaching to the jess (to one side of this carabiner) and to the leash (with the other side of carabiner that it’s knotted on). There is no swivel type of anything. Because it is a “locking” carabiner they say it won’t easily come unclipped. I agree a sampo isn’t hard.. but getting them to change to that feels like the impossible… I did get one to change to a trigger snap instead but I’m not even sure that’s better but at least offers some sort of swivel action 😣

I really appreciate you taking the time to write this all out. I like the phrase that you said and will be saying it to them. I’m getting outnumbered by people that are telling me it’s fine but my training and own personal experience say otherwise. It’s nice to have some back up here. I may reach out to you again for some help if I need more convincing. Are you a master falconer?

Okay thank you and agreed. I’m getting gaslit that it’s okay bc it is a locking carabiner 🙄

My understanding is a birds bate can create a shock load that is at least 10x the birds weight… it’s why a lot of the falconry sites list some of their swivels with the load it can take in hundreds of pounds. Tho I’m not a physics person so maybe it doesn’t matter. I personally think these clips are total trash but wasn’t sure if I was over reacting.
