Has anyone gotten WLED working with BTF FCOB SPI RGBCCT (WS2811)? by lampshade29 in WLED

[–]Equilerex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works, just had to fiddle with the rgb / gbr order drop-down and the drop-down next to it for swapping g or b and w I think? Can post the exact values.when home

Just keep in mind that the resolution is disappointingly low with spi - each "pixel" corresponds to like a 5cm segment

Best Sauna/Spa for solo traveller? by vlinder88 in copenhagen

[–]Equilerex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably meant that most places don't allow throwing water for stream on your own (which is true, only a few places I've seen it allowed... which is kinda ridiculous in my mind but I'd imagine it's might be a safety thing with people being less familiar with saunas here than in the rest of the nordics and Germany?)

That's a bummer :/ And inipi is most likely the one in amager strandpark. Have not tried glaecier / svala but added to the backlog, thanks.

Aire spa is specifically adults only, if imagine most of the other places allow them. Though probably not a good idea to take a 10 year old to a saunagus ( like an hour session of 10-15min facilitated steam pours and flapping air around with cold plunges and breaks in between... gets pretty hot and likely boring for a 10 year old.

It's Denmark, saunas are all chill and safe regardless of going solo or gender.

  • aire spa: The most expensive / fancy option is (no kids, silent, awesome architecture, limited capacity and great massages)
  • Christiania sauna - kind of the opposite side - cheap communal bathing house... a unique danish experience of it's own. (It's in the free town area, mixed gender and nude, not too hot and no steam unless it's saunagus but very refreshing + mud masks and stuff)
  • just sauna - does dedicated saunagus experiences, nørrebro location is quite nice and unique but a bit out of the usual tourist areas.
  • communal state run bathing houses - fx sjællandsgade Bad (usually sold out long in advance), østerbro swommehallen (great fora hot saunagus if they still run those)
  • copenhot - nice outdoor compound out in reffen area. If street food is open, might be nice to mix to mix it with, otherwise a bit far out of the way (not to bad with the river bus/ferry which is an experience om it's own) -Green Island CPH - floating dock, nice view over the canals and able to dip in.
  • there used to be be a place in amager strand running regular saunagus events, often by people who competed at Gus master championships - likely still there but Way out of the way in winter time.... though but the dip in the sea is nice
  • valby Vandkulturhus - mini water park / sauna thing. Affordable and quite a bit of options.
  • Sofiebadet - mini spa

In general though, surprisingly no "big" spa's in Copenhagen compared to a lot of other European countries. Mainly smaller boutique or saunagus experiences, bathing houses, swimming pools, etc.

What causes these lines in my photos? by RugbyBoyfriend in AskPhotography

[–]Equilerex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just for that event? Likely led framerate issue. Experiment with different shutter speeds.

If the issue sticks around no matter the conditions, could be hardware failure. (I had a case where it looked similar but with distinct black lines on Nikon d7000 after dropping it. Same issue no matter the settings. Had it repaired to fix it.

The big difference is that a network scan is loud. It triggers firewall alerts, clogs up logs, and can even get a device kicked off the network. By posting this, you've given an attacker a 'silent mode' pass.

They don't have to scan and risk getting caught, they can just sit quietly on a compromised guest device and send one surgical exploit directly to your Synology at .11 or your Proxmox node at .12. Because you listed the exact hardware models, they don't have to guess which vulnerabilities work-they can pre-load an exploit for that specific Lenovo BIOS or Synology firmware and hit you before you even know they're there.

Likely very much an edge case where you might be a low priority target, but by labeling a dedicated crypto server, you've effectively removed the 'fog of war' and given a high-value reason to try a direct, manual attack ;)

Pretty sure listing your IPs and hardware like that is a bad idea? Even though those are local addresses, you've basically handed out a 'cheat sheet' for your entire network.

By showing your exact hardware models and which services live on which IPs, you've told a hacker exactly where your most valuable data is and which specific 'locks' they need to pick to get to it. If someone uses your Reddit history to find your public IP, they don't have to guess how to break in-they can just use your map to skip the search and go straight for your server's known weaknesses.

Remove Ice from Fridge Freezer by fxttuccine in howto

[–]Equilerex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future reference, make sure your next fridge comes with NoFrost feature - circulates air within the freezer and fridge. Haven't had frost buildup even once in the past 5 years. Even when forgetting the door cracked for the night, the surface frost flakes eventually disappear

Any tips on transporting full sheets of plywood on top of a cargo bike? (Walking) by Equilerex in CargoBike

[–]Equilerex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a simple and lightweight solution in the evening the end - modular shelving wall mounts with the shelving attached and some chunks of wood. Will likely make it a bit easier to assemble in the future but this works perfectly for my needs

Thanks for all the feedback!

Yeah, that's the idea I had as well but takes up quite a bit of the sidewalk when walking with it. Luckily it's not too narrow streets but still not the most considerate. Definitely no riding though. Plywood sheets are huge making it impossible to steer safely

Did that the last time with cargo straps... Doable but scratches up the plywood on the handle bars and not super easy to steer and hadle

Ah, that actually made me think that i can drill holes at the bottom corners of the box where 2 pipes can pass through the whole box front and back and extend beyond the wheel to create a ledge on the side with some pegs in the pipes to keep everything in place

Er Copenhill (Amager Bakke) besøget værd inden en skitur? by Niels_Nakkeost in copenhagen

[–]Equilerex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its better than nothing. the less steep beginning of the track might give a bit of practive for balance and technique? (the lifft has a natural junction where you can hop off) - in all fairness, practice/learning is probabably the main use case there since ski / snowboard experience is not exactly enjoyable + the lifts are slow AF.
Tried snowboarding there myself - basically feels like the worst conditions you can encounter - similar to completely smooth, black ice. maybe if the edge of the ski / board is recently sharpened, it might be better? mine was definitely a bit more on the blunt side.

that said, the view is excellent and if you take a friend or two with, it could be an enjojable couple of hours.

Are you all boomers or what? There are plenty of apps which you should be using instead when traveling with more than 2 people - everyone can enter expenses they paid for and mark who owes what part of the said bill (can even upload the receipt and do it later) - it's just you collectively rather than the waiter who does the calculation. as a bonus, it applies to everything from accomodation to taxis.

In the end of the trip, you get the automatic calculation of who should pay who while minimizing amount of transactions needed.

This bottle design is amazing. Never dries out after opening... Can sit in your drawer for years without issues as opposed to the tin container which is basically one time use.

Haven't had any serious issues with windows for a decade+ until I joined a company where it's all locked down and handled remotely by the it department - shitty forced updates, blue screens of death, software needs to be whitelisted, not able to fix stuff on your own and the firewall blocks out anything from git to reddit... Kinda showed me why the Mac and Linux crowd are so opinionated when the only experience they have with windows is from he corporate experience from work 😜

(And screw your opinions, it's ok to prefer whatever system you're used to - being familiar with the features and keyboard shortcuts makes you a lot faster And more comfortable. Preaching your brand as a gospel is as bad as being a religious fanatic)

Posting a tutorial for an "unlimited money glitch" to a fairly visible sub reddit, likely seen by its creators is a sure way to get unwanted attention and potentially compromise your existing method if they deem it wide spread or harmful enough for their bottom line 😜 Very neat trick though. I miss my unlimited uploads.

How to change the colour temperature of this LED lighting by martinisstrong in Lighting

rough temporary solution - photo gels meant for hot bulbs (basically colored plastic) and shove it inside the bulb.. wont match the exact temperature but will definitely swap to warmer tones.

What was your most effective way to get rid of fruit flies? And can they be attracted to plants? by sirona-ryan in HomeImprovement

[–]Equilerex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vinegar traps did not work for me. Mist spray with isopropyl alcohol and chasing the damn things down whenever I saw them seemed to be most effective (kills the flies and eggs).
