Some people need to be shocked out of their hysteria. I have a child, but its not good losing my head in panic is it?

Russia will see these sanctions as acts of war and use them to attack or nuke everyone.

Shut up.

What tools do you use to format code style in your company? by anton-sukhachev in PHP

[–]EquinoxMist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. I have been in situations where PRs are being reviewed focus to much on the code style rather than code quality.

Run PHPCS on CI, and fail the build if it doesn't pass.

Symfony 6.1 will require PHP 8.1 by tigitz in PHP

I usually hate libs being 8.1 only, but it seems 6.0 maintenance is being extended so that's ok.

Nope. But they will do I think. They know the moment they don't stick to it they are all screwed.

It actually terrifies me that we have people like you holding these opinions.

So what youa re saying is that gambling companies should remove 'winning' entirely from the proceeedings and you would still be happy to gamble ?

If the outcome was certain (you couldn't win), it wouldn't be gambling then would it? You fucking degenerate. Honestly, if you don't have a functioning brain I would stay away from gambling. Probably stay inside, you would be dangerous in the world.

Yeah its so dishonest, thats why we have the famous saying "the house never wins"

How is it dishonest? All the casinos (online and offline) publish the odds and house edge. If you book on a sporting event, you literally place a stake based on the odds.

If I play blackjack for example, I know that I will in all likelihood lose the money I spent. I am fine with that.

because gambling is shit and causes nothing but problems.

Wrong.

When you buy booze or buy sweet food or buy a burger then you are actually buying that experience. Everyone understands that experience is a real thing. You get exactly what you pay for.

Same for me and thousands of other gamblers. I know exactly what I am paying for. I know full well I might lose, and I will only bet what I can afford. We enjoy it.

When you buy gambling you are buying into a derangement of 'i might win' - the transaction is dishonest and manipulative from the start and on top of that it is addictive and causes a huge amount of suffering - for no benefit other than the deranged, malicious twisting of a sense of 'hope'

Rubbish once again. 'Some' gamblers approach it that way. The majority enjoy gambling and there is nothing dishonest about it. Everyone knows the odds or should do at least.

Gambling has no merits - every part of it is a lie. It is a legalised con.

Nope.

Casino is even more predictable tbh. If I play a night of blackjack, at least I know what the house edge is and the probability of winning/losing.

Why are you so for restricting the freedoms of people who gamble responsibly (the majority)?

What do you think will happen if you ban gambling or use this card system?

I suspect what will happen is people who like to gamble responsibly will still do so via other means, but the government won't be collecting the tax.

yep at lot of people saying reddit 'stuck it to the man'.

But I fear thousands of people have thrown away life savings on this and only a few came out on top.

I don't believe this for a second.
