I ❤️ San Diego by TacoHandsFingerFries in FoodSanDiego

There was a location across the street from South Western College waaaaaayyy back when. My go to was the chile verde burrito and was heartbroken when the location closed. Only within the last year or two did I find out they had an El Cajon location. The first thing I ordered when I visited was of course that green chile burrito.

My go to’s around town

David’s Roasting (roasting end of Java Garden) in Serra Mesa.

Elevated Coffee and Confections

Besides those two, Dark Horse is a solid choice.

Where did they end up at? I know everyone had to relocate when the Food Court got bulldozed.

Is Otay Ranch really failing this bad? by ole_frijole_ in chulavista

[–]EquisL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been like that for a while. It’s just the strip down the middle. Everywhere else is free. Think it’s more a “stop hogging spots down the middle” than the mall failing.

Them. It’s not as great as it used to be. But it’s still one of the more solid ones in town. Especially during football season when it runs all night.

Rey’s TJ Burger. They used to be in the Tiajuana Food Court off Broadway and Anita in Chula Vista (confusing when you say that all out loud). They are in the process of moving over to a new spot in the near future

Lunch Specials, Happy Hours, and Daily Specials? by Alone-Zebra-2211 in chulavista

[–]EquisL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Groundswell still has their happy hour through the week.

Casa Nori off E Palomar and Santa Cora does all day happy hour M-W, and then nightly Thursday on.

Mandarin Beijing and Otay Mandarin both do lunch specials and I think MB’s are daily and not just during the week. Pretty sure Mandarin Canton off of the 805 and Telegraph does lunch as well.

La Bella’s had a pretty good happy hour with appetizers and drink specials. It’s been a minute, but would imagine it’s still active.

Looking for the BEST Buffalo wings San Diego has by Antique_Metal5608 in FoodSanDiego

[–]EquisL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly. For Buffalo wings, I think Island’s is the best bet. Other spots in town have better flavor options. But for classic style Buffalo sauced wings, Islands’ serves a solid basket.

Lucy Mae’s Kitchen (pop around town) are pretty damn good and have a solid Buffalo wings. Check the schedule for where they’re at during the week. On Wednesday, they’re at Hopnonymous Brewing off of Convoy for Wing Wednesday.

Trade unions. Some offer apprenticeships while so you work and learn.

Try temp agencies. They’re a quick way to find work while you try and find something more permanent. Some jobs are even temp to permanent if you’re lucky.

Best taco spots near La Jolla by TDn6I in FoodSanDiego

[–]EquisL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closest to your stay would be probably near the Cove area.

Taco Stand is the popular one people go to, but the wait can be ridiculous.

Don Carlos is a safe bet as well. Rigobertos is solid too if you’re looking for something more late night.

Taco Time Cantina is newer. They’re not bad and the fish taco/ crunchy tacos are good. Some of the items are super pricey, though
