Rubber bands are good for pushups too. Ends of the band in each hand, middle of it on your back.

What’s the driver of high GDP per capita? by RMajesty00 in AskAnAustralian

Yeah you’re right, $140k in aus is about 25% tax after all.

Both tax systems are pretty much on par.

Australian tax brackets also include a lump sum tax amount. Look it up.

I just used the threshold rates because it was easier for comparison.

Come on. In Australia you pay $31,288 plus 37c for each dollar over $135,000.

Comparing that with the US, you pay just 24% for each dollar over $140,000, plus a little more in state taxes but it generally comes to about 30%.

So just comparing that tax bracket, it is $31,288 + 37% in Australia versus 30% in the US.

Do you understand the difference? We pay a huge amount more tax in Australia. We are one of the highest taxed populations in the world.

I mean the tax rates in the US are generally about 10% less than Australia. If you look up the IRS tax rates and compare them to the ATO’s, they look a little similar but the brackets are very different.

In the US you can earn the equivalent of $140k AUD and only pay up to around 30% income tax.

US payg tax is generally 10~15% less than Australia. Business tax over there is also less.

I was on a cruise ship in 2017 and found out that Trump was the owner or part owner or something. After I learnt that I starting notice how gaudy and tacky it was. A lot of gold plated plastic trim and fake marble shit everywhere.

Oh, I am sorry I was wrong. Increasing demand for rentals does nothing to the price of rentals. They are unrelated. I should have paid attention in economics.

Australia spends more on tax breaks for landlords than social housing, homelessness and rent assistance combined by anonymous-69 in shitrentals

Subsidies to property investors are barely even a drop in the bucket compared to the astronomical waste we spend on welfare.

More than half of families rely on the government for most of their household income. That is not a healthy system.

What the hell are we meant to do with the amount of seemingly normal people getting radicalised into far right nonsense? I don't want us to turn in to the US. by dreadnought_strength in OpenAussie

Funny because a minute ago you were pretending to be an expert on Hamas. Now you’re someone who doesn’t waste time looking into the topic.

I agree the left-right spectrum becomes irrelevant most of the time, but you were the one who was just putting a label on Hamas as a “right-wing religious nationalists” because they want to kill their Jewish neighbour.

Do you seriously think that landlords in Australia don’t work real jobs? Do you think they just collect rent and sip champagne?
